Happy Go-Live day folks! A project that should've taken max 3 weeks but ended up taking closer to 3 months is finally going in today. Threatened my team that if they bring up one more "Oh, BTW I just thought of X" in front of the vendor the next thing I deliver for them will be a resignation letter. I'm joking, but not really. I no longer care if we deliver the most broken thing in the world, I just want it off my damn plate.

Getting a hang of waking up early again. Up at 7am today and didn't go back to sleep. Just have to keep it up for another few days and I'll be set for next week.

Just went through the performance discussion and I still have my job. It just seems like I'll be getting around on 1 HP at work for a while.

My biggest hope is nothing else happens any time soon as it will be too many mistakes close together. I think I'm going to work on getting out of here and at least this allows me to leave on my own terms.

I did not expect my lovely little trip to feature a visit to urgent care, but here we are. After vomiting all day they've given me anti-nausea stuff. Hopefully I can actually enjoy the rest of the trip!

Omfg the amount of bloatware on this laptop is insane! Windows really is just bloat at this point. It reminds me of when I was younger and used to have a cheap shitty Optus/Telstra phone they probably sold as a loss leader. They used to come with sooo much bloatware. Update: it just arrived. I checked the tracking at 7:18 and it was still saying ready for processing so I went to the kitchen to grab some cheeky ice cream, and then there was a surprise knock on my door! Delivered at 7:21, and after double checking the tracking they've retroactively marked it as on board for delivery in Tullamarine at 7:12 (definitely wasn't there before). I'm a lot more than 8 minutes from tullamarine. I'll be honest - I jumped when I heard the knock. And yes, it came through startrack not auspost (although in my mind they're still the same thing)

Not complaining though, that was bloody efficient. I mean look at this!

• Friend from uni cancelled on me and the reason was because something minor came up apparently. Didn't say what. Last time we were meant to catch up, they hadn't even left the house and were half an hour away at the time we were supposed to meet, so I told them we can reschedule. I have cancelled on them last minute before as well, but this is not the only time they've done it. Time to find alternative social arrangements for this week, because I will go insane without seeing people.

Been trying to teach myself how to make a business website using Wordpress, because I can't really afford to pay someone thousands to do it for me. Thought it would be easy to figure out for someone with slightly above average IT skills, but it's really not. Now I realise why people pay professionals for Wordpress websites.

Using a theme as a base is the way to go for a beginner like me, but so many of the free themes on offer are so template-y looking with zero design flair. I'd start with a basic theme thinking I could make it look good, only to realise that I can't and the customisation level is so limited (or I can't figure out how to make larger customisations).

Now after days of searching, I've found a nice looking theme that seems user friendly to work with. Starting all over again with customising it. Hope this one works.

Ahh... I've been feeding Melbcat lots of treats to keep her appetite up and her tummy lined, and they contain sugar in the form of molasses. At the vet I saw some redness on her gums and tartar on her teeth. I wonder how far I'd get with brushing them.

Unfortunately there aren't very many other treats she can have.

So my replacement laptop is coming today (possibly). They had an option I've never seen before - "Australia Post next day evening (6-9pm)". I decided to go with this one instead of express post, because surprisingly it was actually a dollar cheaper. Apparently this is part of some service called Australia Post metro express, or possibly startrack courier (both things I never knew existed). The shipping info said they did the pre lodgement at 1pm, and apparently it WILL arrive within the next 4 hours.

I'm really sceptical, because since when do Australia Post do after hours delivery, and half the time their next day shipping doesn't even happen. But I will update you all later. If it actually does arrive, then I'm going to think I'm in a dream

Update: it pretty much turned out to be option 1. I did manage to sleep in for about 30 minutes longer than my usual time, but since I could've gotten 3.5 hours more than usual and I'm still feeling tired (but can't get back to sleep), I'm calling that option 1

MWave still hasn't sent my GPU. I ordered it 2 days ago. And I paid like 20 bucks to have it express posted so I'd get it before weeks end, but it doesn't seem like that's going to be happening. Bloody rude.

Edit: when I was swapping out the ram, I did properly look at the GPU and figured out why it sounds like a helicopter. This would be why:

Edit: they just emailed me to say apparently they no longer have any stock, so they're ordering more from the supplier and expect it to arrive between Tuesday and Friday (next week!). I specifically checked stock, and they said they had it in stock at their little warehouse. Fucking grubs took so long sending out my order, they ran out of stock!
