It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this.

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

It’s so funny to read this stuff knowing that Hexbear existed for years as a separate community before any of these people knew what lemmy was. It’s such a classic stupid person move to assume that everything came into existence the moment you became aware of it, always reacting as if your personal experience represents the natural status quo.

I hate when people find threads in a way I do not approve of

Idk what these people are on about, America and its proxies are the most fascist regimes on earth.

[–] [email protected] 91 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No, fascism is what the Western-designated enemy nations do

[–] [email protected] 77 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Unironically doing helldivers propaganda.

[–] [email protected] 73 points 7 months ago (1 children)

The number of people who don't grasp that Super Earth is the US is astonishing

Literally screaming about freedom and democracy while they're dropping chemical and nuclear weapons on other people

Telling their citizens that everything is fine, keep spending money on guns and Eagle Sweat, but if you even question them, you will die at the hands of the aliens

The only distinction is the flag is different

Real lefties are people who agree with every statement the DNC puts out and who support Joe Biden.

Internet communists in .world's minds:

nefarious agents of evil governments performing psychological warfare against adherents of the only correct ideology - western neoliberalism

Internet communists irl:

A poorly edited picture of Angela Merkel stretched over a scalene triangle titled "Angular Merkel", 150 upvotes

What's really incredible is their ability to say how we are evil propagandists with a straight face when probably 90+% of hexbears never/rarely interact with a single federated post and mostly just shitpost among ourselves

[–] [email protected] 73 points 7 months ago (2 children)

When we first federated, several instances we had not federated with, had posts on their front page about how they had to defederate from us, because we were brigading. Again this was from instances we were not federated with.
Also a lot of lies about how we would downvote their posts lol. Libs love talking out of their ass.

Our posting power is just so immense that a 10% effort wrecks havoc on them

I abandoned an old account because Hexbear bullies followed me around and downvoted everything. Come to think of it, I haven’t posted a single thing since then, and I had a bunch of posts with hundreds of votes.

OH NO MUH UPDOOTS

Honestly, I’m so weary of being open minded and tolerant.

Lol, lmao.

If instances can participate in asymmetric information warfare without reprisal, the Lemmy experiment has failed.

I am asymmetric information warfare, will some please by my failed lemmy experiment 🥺

But you see, if I post the gigachad xi image in a comment I win the argument and my stalin posting friends give me an upvote

IF lemmy.ml is admin’d by the Lemmy devs, themselves,

AND their ideology/prejudice is being obstructed by the Lemmy-verse,

THEN wouldn’t it be rational for them to engineer-in to Lemmy, itself, protections for their ideology?

Breaking the Fediverse’s ability to “manage” them?

or breaking the Fediverse’s ability to have any alternative-ideology be its core??

There's a specter haunting the source code of Lemmy specter-global

[–] [email protected] 62 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I would really love to hear what this person thinks could be done in the source code to achieve that. Or for that matter how exactly "the fediverse" currently has the "ability to 'manage' them" lmao

Funny how they have this vendetta against anything Hexbear related, but took forever to defederate the fascist and CSAM instances.

This is a person who isn't mad lmao. Why are they all such nerds? They treat an internet forum like it's a sacred space for serious business. Then we arrive screaming emotes, covered in pig shit, causing all their nerd monocles to pop out.

Lemmyworld can't defed lemmy without severing its relationship with the developers and that would be absolutely stupid and ridiculous to do. All effort from lemmy official development would go towards promoting something else.

If you don't like the developers the problem you have is with lemmy entirely. Use something made by liberals?

Oh yeah... The problem you have is that liberals don't want a decentralised internet. They don't want to challenge the corporations. They hold the ideology that put them in power in the first place.

So either suck it up and try to understand why it is that leftists are your only option for development like this, or piss off.

Hexbear is mostly just trolls in my experience. They like to brigade any discussion involving Russia, China, Ukraine, etc.

lemmitors continuing to not understand

  1. that people can genuinely have "extreme" beliefs without being "trolls"
  2. how federation works
[–] [email protected] 64 points 7 months ago (3 children)

"Hexbear trolls always show up (in a thread they're invited to) if you discuss Taiwan (in) China, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, Venezuela, Yemen etc. As an American I can proudly proclaim that these places and their geopolitical situation have no common denominator. The only rational argument is that Hexbear users are in fact a co-ordinated, paid and directed campaign of trolls from a conspiracy of at least half a dozen governments specifically designed to waste their time arguing with me on one of the most niche and specialist corners of the internet landscape. But I will not let them. I will devote my time to getting every possibly instance, website, or refuge of these trolls banned because I'm a patriot and they represent an outside threat to good American thought. But also they don't, because they're silly children, and I'm an objectively independent poster from *~~Iran~~ ~~Vuvuzela~~ ~~JingYaaaan~~ Virginia who just cannot stand by and watch the enemies of, uhmm, my country win the battle of ideas on this post seen by 200 people."

Lemmy was built by commies, we were here first. If you don’t like it feel free to leave. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

Really didn't expect the reddit nerds to be the one to solve the reddit nerd problem by grouping up in a box fort with a hand written "no communists allowed" sign on the door that literally noone will ever read.

[–] [email protected] 65 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (4 children)

It's so funny because before the lib invasion of july/august lemmy.ml was the biggest instance and guess what? It was and still is mostly populated by libs (although the situation is still better than on .world) i actually signed up here on accident, before even knowing what federation meant, I actually wanted to register on lemmygrad (TBF not many people knew what federation was 2 years ago, lemmy was even more niche and unknown than it is now) it's so funny to see these omega-libs whine about "those communists from lemmy.ml" lmao, before July I fondly remember all the lib trolls that populated /c/worldnews here on the .ml

Edit: take this gem:

Asking for proof of what is an open secret on lemmy seems disingenuous.

I think that instances like hexbear, lemmygrad, and lemmy.ml are very bad advocates for Lemmy and will most likely end up damaging it more than anything else, keeping the “normies” out.

They argue in Bad faith, say the most radical stuff they can think of, and purge anything bad said about totalitarian regimes they idolize. China, Russia, Iran, all considered victims of the evil west…

Uyghur camps > not happening Tiannamen square > Just some peaceful protests invasion of Ukraine > NATO forced Russia to do it

[–] [email protected] 63 points 7 months ago (8 children)

If they weren’t such weasels and actually agrued back rather than just ban people like the spineless dimwit twats they are, I’d say the argument that they are easily filtered holds. But given they are just looking to propagate their shilling for Russia, trump (and they definitely do this) etc… fuck em!

[–] [email protected] 75 points 7 months ago

Whenever I've seen a person say they got banned from hexbear unfairly I check the modlog and they were repeatedly saying something racist or transphobic. It's every single time lmao

[–] [email protected] 61 points 7 months ago (6 children)

I asked for an example of Hexbear defending Trump but they owned me with downvotes

no example
