Got it on.

The stream was really struggling during the womenโ€™s match.

The Puerto Rican was robbed.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 4 minutes ago (1 children)

Was that the one that ended in a split decision?

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 2 minutes ago

No the women that was just on.

My friend has helped me move out about 70% of my stuff (deadset legend).

But I have vastly underestimated how much stuff I have, and how much stuff I can realistically store at this next place...

I am REALLY working hard to keep myself together. Wow this is a huge huge downgrade. I really did not prepare myself for this. Even my friend looked at the other place and (reluctantly, after I was whinging) said "yeah... it's a place to crash at after a long day, not a home - it's a good thing you're only there for six months".

The plan will work, I just need to get everything out of here by the 19th. I will cull and sell further once it's been moved, none of it is too heavy.

Iโ€™m really sorry. I know how it is to live somewhere you hate.

Re the fridge, I used to live somewhere the kitchen was so small it didnโ€™t account for a fridge (literally no place for even a bar fridge - not built to accommodate one) so I kept my fridge nearby in the lounge. If it turns out that the fridge just doesnโ€™t fit you can get creative or you could use a buy nothing/swap site to get a smaller one just to last you for the 6 months.

(If you have the money you can be a little lenient on convenience/tinned/fast foods just until you get out of there, or cook one pot food. Snacks help greatly.)

Iโ€™m sure Givit would take the big fridge, and perhaps the drawers(?). You might get a tax discount for the donations too.

This might not be legal in Australia bc food safety but in Slav countries the washing machine is in the kitchen with hot plates sitting on top because of space and also thatโ€™s where the plumbing allows it to be.

And this is hypocritical because I am a packrat/clutterbug when space allows - but I definitely did have ways of storing things/things I would cook or ways of doing things that helped me manage in a small place. Hit me up if you want some tips.

Just focus on survival for now, youโ€™re in a great position to move in with family and save up for a strong return. Itโ€™s a lot easier to tolerate a bad situation if thereโ€™s an end date in sight.

Edit: I also know that Diabetes Victoria does pickups of clothes and other stuff, and there was a thing I used where you could download a prepaid postage label and mail donations to the Iconic.

However if itโ€™s too much hassle or you donโ€™t have time just do whatever you have to do. I should have thought to tell you this stuff earlier

so many hugs

And let this new place be a home, just a little home, get to know your new neighbourhood and some local people. Try to keep some of your old habits. It will be fine. ๐Ÿ˜˜

๐Ÿ’ The season has arrived ๐Ÿ’

I just bought half a kilo of cherries for my pocket change. I am delighted

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 53 minutes ago

Movie Review. Moon with Sam Rockwell. Pretty harrowing . I love how these guys are still so very human. Will watch again, I expect it's one of those movies that you think about.

3.5 hobbits

TV Review. Benidorm. Amazon.

I just couldn't watch it so I watched every first episode and the last. Too histrionic for me but I can see how this series is made with love and respect for those who like the all inclusive holiday camp holidays.

2 hobbits tho it must have appealed to many as it had 10 series made.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 8 minutes ago

I really enjoyed Moon. I saw it in the cinema with no clue going in. We actually missed the start of the movie we were going to see because of traffic so decided to see it instead as it hasn't started.

I feel like the internet has turned really shit and at some point itโ€™ll be so user unfriendly that itโ€™s barely usable. I miss past eras of it (well the ones Iโ€™m old enough to have known) and the niches I like of current day are the ones most similar to that. I want to go back.

Lemmy is like a cosy comforting old school forum.

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I miss when I scrolled I saw memes and not 4-year-old reposts. But I guess itโ€™s good I donโ€™t spend much time scrolling now.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 1 hour ago

I think I need to spend less time scrollingโ€ฆ it just sucks that Outside is hostile

[โ€“] [email protected] 11 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

Might have missed the mechanic to grab the car. Fingers crossed he left it outside ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿพ

Edit: nvm it's waiting for me!!!!

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Just don't grab the corrola.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 1 hour ago

Instructions unclear. Grabbed a ~~koala~~ drop bear.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Went to The Glen, came out with a bag full of soju and snacks after eating skewers and onigiri while there. Mmmhmm!

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

What flavours of soju?

Ps. There's a yogurt one that tastes like yakult

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I've currently got lychee, apple, passionfruit, peach, original, guava in the fridge. I want to try honeydew melon but haven't found it yet. Haven't tried any of the yoghurt flavoured ones, but did once try a choc mint one which was very, very confusing for my mouth. What's your fav? I had a strawberry one last weekend, wish I'd nabbed another of that! Boyo is currently in love with jelly sake, so we got some peach, apple and plum cans of that!

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago

They're all my favourite. Strawberry is good. Peach and plum probably my least favourites. I need to try passionfruit now.

Got flowers todayโ€ฆ Nothing like feeling you are seen. ๐Ÿ–ค

Flowers

Also, they are massiveโ€ฆ Like I had to dig out my 50+ cm vase for them.

Feel absolutely blessed. A millions miles from how Iโ€™ve felt the last couple of days.

Thanks, CEO! ๐Ÿ–ค

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Those look absolutely amazing, where are they from as I'd like to order something similar for my partner?

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 27 minutes ago (1 children)

Iโ€™ve asked! Iโ€™ll let you know.

Tribal Rose on Smith Street.

They asked for something dark and gothic. โ˜บ๏ธ

[โ€“] [email protected] 8 points 2 hours ago

Life lesson for today. When you buy a remnant of corduroy to make something, please please please zigzag the edges BEFORE pre-washing it. I am now going to have to run a cleaning cycle on my washing machine which I did not plan to do today. The lint was abominable.
