Yesterday I walked 10 minutes around my house because my watch wanted me to. Today I half jogged and half walked because I wanted to. It's a big deal for me because I suffer from vertigo and low blood pressure and weird shit happens to my ears.

I usually do a lot of walking and yoga to keep fit anyway but I need intensity movements if I'm gonna give up smoking. @[email protected] you have inspired me.

It's been getting kinda scary on the trains recently, even for me. Every single train I've been on in the last few months has had someone being aggressive on it. Coming back from Albury there were 3 people all very much off their faces screaming at nothing and punching the air, a few days ago there was some dude screaming at me for some reason about Elon Musk AIs and that I kill Europeans because Germany was right. Today there was some lady absolutely screaming her head off at anyone that moved, and apparently I look brave enough to save people so people started standing behind me for I presume protection, which I don't mind, but that did mean I got turned into a target. A few weeks ago I was abused by a junkie looking dude at Southern cross for no apparent reason. I'm not really sure what I specifically do that always brings me trouble, I try to just mind my own business and not pay much attention

Got the sad news from my landlord that they're going to have to sell this house. They just bought it last year and have been lovely. They really like us as tenants so I know that it's not what they want to do.

Mortgage rate rises just mean they have to sell.

They given us a months notice.

But now onto the house search.

Have a look at the laws first. You may not have to move.

My neighbour opposite just came over and gave me some of his first harvest of broad beans. So young and fresh they don't need to be skinned. Marvellous!

struggling with emotional regulation today. The fact that I'm getting hit with a slew of bullshit (like, empirically proven bullshit, not coloured perception) is not fucking helping

PANIK: The very first record my client reviewed threw up a discrepancy in my magical SQL aggregate code output compared to a manual aggregate, where I thought did everything right. Cue significant embarrassment at meeting.

KALM: I quickly realised the pattern of errors and learned something new about UNION (it removes duplicate rows - I'd included the primary ID for two tabled but not two others so if all the other attributes were the same they were excluded, d'oh).

Phew. Relieved that it was an understandable error at my level. Still rockin' it. 😎

I don't know if I'm going to stay in this role. My 2IC is "besties" with my line manager and is a rude, arrogant prick. Even the rest of the team have noticed how he speaks to me. Everytime I bring it up with my line manager, he makes excuses for him.

On Friday he said "If I wanted to get rid of you I could. There's people I could talk to that could get rid of you. But I don't".

Haven't spoken to the line manager yet, and am honestly thinking of not bothering and just looking for another job.

Yay corporate.

So a person (or people) have been tailgating residents in my building to get in and steal mail. They have also been ringing random doorbells to convince residents to buzz open the front door.

When one of our "doorbells" goes off it's stupid loud, as in I can hear other neighbours bells. Anyway, one of the randoms came back and was just spam ringing. So I walked over to my intercom and told them to "give it a fucking rest bro" lol

It's stopped, so I'm happy.

Fucking grubs.

Must have a wee fire under my butt… Changed the shower head yesterday, changed over the little name plates that’s few were all scratched up from my bike stack earlier the year and have been semi-spring cleaning in general.

Hmm, we’ll see how long it lasts…

If I was to go on MKR with my bestie I wouldn't be saying "I'm gonna get all 10s or my food is better than this slop" I'd be more "I hope it's edible or I hope I don't poison yous". If you set the bar low you don't disappoint yourself. Hahaha.

Mentions of dead pets and just depresso posting. It's not super triggering, but I thought I'd hide it just in case.God I don't want to go to work. But I have to. I just hope my boss sends me home. My chest feels super heavy, I hate this. Gonna try and keep my depressed postings to a minimum not to be a bringer of sadness. And what sucks even more with the benefits of ADHD, one of them is just forgetting people exist. Like it won't occur to me that I have a Dad until someone mentions him or their Dad and I'll be like "oh I haven't spoken to him recently" (I did last night, he was apologetic). It's even worse when people or animals pass away, like my Grandpa passed in 2019 and I'll forget about him until I remember and then I have to go through the grieving process again.

Update: went to work and started bawling. He told me to go home. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. But I'm just going to play Starfield and hug my cats.

Okay so editing a post on mobile that has spoilers wrecks the coding. Interesting.

Did my exercises this morning before I shunted the Minipeelers out the door for school. I thought, geez that was a bit of an effort.. then I remembered I did the core exercises before I went to bed last night 🤦🏼‍♀️No wonder it felt a little tougher than usual! Now lunch outside for the first time since summer ended.

Woke up from a really yucky dream in which I was running late to a final high school exam that was going to determine my whole life... Everyone at home was shaming me hard, and I couldn't decide whether it was still worth trying to make a dash for the "late intake". I called a fancy hotline that used a projector in my phone to cast a 3D hologram map in front of me, showing that no matter which route I took I'd be late. (And also cheerfully reminding me that the best way to get to an exam on time is to leave earlier! And take it seriously.)

I decided to RUN there instead, and was overwhelmingly relieved when I saw a bunch of people lined up at school including my primary school bully (?!); so I wasn't the only one who was a failure, I was part of a normal group ... but when we were allowed in (and of course had to complete the exam in the given time, 15% less than if we'd arrived on time) I realised I was so flustered I couldn't work out the answers to most of the questions and was bordering on a panic attack...

Then I woke up to the cat's routine morning screams to get me out of bed and serving her various needs. I HATE school dreams.

Since my daughter has been home sick I have seen enough of The Inbetweeners that I care to. I thought Orange Is The New Black and Shameless was bad. Jfc.

I ask her to turn these off before her dad comes home. Hahaha.

Hmmm I started my role (first role!) in May and got a small pay bump as part of the annual remuneration review! About 6%. Didn't expect it but will gladly take it. Hopefully that means I'm doing something right

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

6% is a good pay rise! It matches CPI so means you are not going backwards. Many employers give pay rises less than CPI so to increase salary in real terms you would have to get promoted or move jobs.

Another restructure at work (public sector), a few hundred positions are going. It's both bad and good news. Bad, cause people are losing jobs, good is that they seem to be getting rid of deadwood that's been hanging around for a long time.

Interesting times.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

It's always better if the restructuring gets rid of the deadwood, seems like in redundancies past the useless dinosaurs have stayed on and they trim off the younger/newer hires.

trying to figure out if I've eaten something I cant tolerate, or if I've eaten something that was a bit off. The carrot was a bit soft last night is the only thing I can think of. Reckon this is gonna be a less than fun day.

I reached into my toiletry bag last night and my razor decided to take a slice of my finger. Luckily I stopped it before it took too much but urgh so annoying.

Farmers Market bougie tuna pate with quail egg centre was a hit with the cat, thanks @Taleya. She's been eating the gravy but leaving the "meat" of the cheap Dine shit that was in the house, so a pate texture worked out perfectly. The 6 pack of the Chicken collection (3x broth, 3x gravy) was on sale, let's see if she takes to those.

My online grocery order arrived, and apparently I ordered chicken breast chunks instead of whole pieces. My plan to grill them to slice for sandwich meat is obviously not going to work, but I'm thinking a nice chicken, leek & mushroom casserole is now on the cards.

There is so much that confuses me about this country... The Voice, the tax breaks, the constant bickering between polparties.

But the next thing that confuses me is the 1.7 billion dollar upgrade to that vic market thingy in the city, you know, the city? the place with drug addicts, homeless people, mentally sick people and the like?

surely 1.7 billion can go towards fixing that instead of upgrading a freaking market. but oh well. this is Melbourne, go danny boyyyy.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

The market upgrade includes public amenities. They're building a community centre, a maternal health clinic and a library on site.

I've spent the last year or two watching them do it

So I see broccoli on the Woolworths website at 96cents each.

What are the chances of it being that price in store?
