The value of this party is $45 per person and will be added to your paycheck as taxable income.

[–] [email protected] 70 points 1 year ago (1 children)

it also counts as your lunch break, so be sure to clock-out before attending.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

You guys do that? Here they subtract your lunch time from the time you're clocked in

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Where are you from? That's crazy, taking an hour break doesn't somehow undo an hour of work that you've done and should be paid for.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Same here, is this not normal in some countries?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It doesn't subtract, they're still clocked in on lunch time. Still shitty, but not as much

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 year ago

No, the half hour break is mandatory by law and therefore not really subtracted from time worked

Got an email like that a few weeks ago about a benefit I hadn't even received and then a retraction email about 30 minutes later. Motherfuckers can't even actually give me something without talking about taking money out of my pocket anymore.

Company cutting costs by laying off all the artists.

Business lady's hand is growing a second smaller hand

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Not really, all hands are "correct", 4 fingers and a thumb. Many look weird for sure, and it's surely AI, but it's not at all the usual mutated nightmare hands.

Should be a single pizza and night shift gets crumbs.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Gonna have to fight for that last slice with sausage!

like idk if ppl really enjoy sausage that much or it's just the perceived added value of a second topping that makes it more desirable

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I was gonna say. 1 pizza per worker is some generous ratio.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We had a pizza party at the office last week. If you wanted some you had to pay 5$....

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 year ago

My company kept having barbeques and cook outs or pizza parties. They all cost like $5-10 per a person. Fuck that cheap asses. "Feel free to invite your family!" Yeah, no.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Whoa That's over $100 worth of pizza. That company really splurged on their valuable employees.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

That’s not delivery, it’s about $40 of DiGiornio.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Maybe they'll report it on your income taxes

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh yeah Is this a reference to the nurse whose hospital job gave the employees a taxable potato bar party for christmas

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

'tis indeed

The last company I worked for had an $80k shortfall at the end of 2022 and tasked my department with making up the difference. When my supervisor dropped that news on us with only 2 months to go, I joked "can we get a pizza party if we achieve this?!" and she honestly said to "that's a good idea!" I should have quite that day. That company who is named after the word integrity, had none. Our department head was the biggest piece of shit I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Dude used his religion and family as a shield to be racist and condescending. Never again.

Fidelity or Wells Fargo?

ai generated memes... 🤦

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

What's the problem?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I got a T-shirt, and "lunch" was at 11am and counted as your lunch time (with the walk to/from cafeteria to get it being a part of that).

Edit early morning word making is hard

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago

Damn where yall work that you get a whole freaking pizza bonus?! We got one slice lol

I mean, I'm never gonna turn down pizza but uh. Those $3k bonuses we used to get went a lot further...

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

Id rather get the money they spent on the pizza lmao

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You guys got pizza? At my workplace we got salad.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Management wasn't winning any friends.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

At my last job, they had a fajita truck come in. I don't like smoked meat and I don't like bell peppers, so I didn't eat any. When my bosses saw I wasn't having any, I told them why and they just gave me a 'too bad' look and moved on with their day.

Every single order in the company went through me, but since I didn't like what food they were serving (I wasn't even told until the food truck showed up) I didn't even get that "bonus."

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

My previous employer made a big deal of "togetherness" and regularly catered in lunches in an attempt to lure people back into the office post-pandemic... and that's fine as far as it goes, but we had several folks with dietary restrictions and it was a constant struggle to get the admin staff to remember that they needed to order meals that accommodated everybody. I didn't feel a whole lot of togetherness when I had to repeatedly order in my own lunch on days that lunch was supposed to be provided, because the admin "forgot" about my dairy intolerance and just ordered pizzas.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mean, that is kinda too bad lmfao. At the end of the day they had to pick something and they can't make sure every single person in the company is going to like what they choose.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

They could have asked people first. I mean I'm guessing the vegans, if there were any, weren't too happy about this "bonus" either. Or Jews or Muslims since it was pork.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 11 months ago

Tough luck. If they ordered vegan shit I would skip it and get my own food.

Asking opens a can of worms.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

I feel this

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Better than a potato party though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Hey why did this go missing from [email protected] ? Do we have a containment breach?

Oh shit.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

DIY pizza ought to be easy to make. its basically poverty food.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I work for a medical company in our area. Not all parties are like this. I didn't partake but a lot of my coworkers went to the bar after the fact.

I used to work for a cell phone retailer (larger one) our company party got wild every year I was there.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

You do realize this post has nothing to do with the party, right? It has everything to do with the workers not being given their fair share of the profits they generated. No one gives a shit how wild the company parties are. "Fuck you, pay me!" is the point.
