I don't understand your brain. That is the only response to cute doggies.

Unless they're service dogs. Then you just get a little choked up at how great dogs are because you shouldn't pet them when they're working.

"service dogs" are being exploited.

when you're conditioned your whole life to love something because you were separated from your parent at child and raised for one specific task with lots of training designed to create a pleasurable response in your brain upon completing that task, then yeah, you'd like it too.

What if that shit was being done to humans? Humans bred and separated from their parents at birth, and trained for a specific task everyday for someone else. Your life thrown away for someone else's, because the giants consider you a "lesser being" and you "enjoy it".

By the way, the word for this is slavery. It's just slavery.

If that's the case then why do the dogs that don't like it get put up for adoption instead? I've met many "service dog dropouts" that were trained to be service dogs but didn't become them because they just didn't like doing the job all the time. We created dogs and they are our responsibility so I think calling it slavery is a bit dramatic.

If dogs had a $1 fee for every ear/neck/belly scratch, I'd be broke at the end of the day.
