I can't tell whether you're just referring to Chrome 🙂.

I'm not personally familiar with Android antivirus tools. I'd imagine your best bet is to just not install APKs from random unverified sources.

Thanks! I actually meant to remove the section altogether since folks likely have their preferred tools by now.

Nothing has launched a first look at its Nothing OS 3.0 update, delivering revamped designs and features, a new Gallery app, and more, with a launch in beta next month.

Nothing OS 3.0 is the software the company "always wanted" to build, as explained in a new video on the company's YouTube channel. The update, almost surely based on Android 15, is set to bring several new changes including redesigns throughout the Android skin as well as a long-awaited first-party "Nothing Gallery" app.

New features in Nothing OS 3.0 include:

  • Nothing Gallery: A new photo app with Nothing's design language and faster access from the camera app
  • Lock Screen: More customization for clocks and widgets, including the ability to disable a full-size clock to make more room for widgets.
  • Quick Settings: Full customization of icons including their size, similar to homescreen widgets. Auto-brightness toggle in the brightness slider.
  • Smart App Drawer: AI will be used to surface apps you may want to use -- in a UI that looks just like iOS' App Library -- or you can manually pin apps to the top of the traditional Android app drawer.
  • New Widgets: Countdown widget for dates, "Shared Widgets" that sync content and sticker reactions between users
  • UI: Updated typography, new "Dot Engine" updates system animations with dynamic dots (found when charging, fingerprint sensor, etc)

A new version of the Octo Android malware, called Octo2, has been detected spreading in Europe disguised as NordVPN, Google Chrome, and an app called Europe Enterprise. Octo2 has improved stability, evasion capabilities, and a new C2 domain system. The malware is not yet on Google Play, but its spread is expected to increase.

A new version of the Necro malware loader infected 11 million Android devices via malicious advertising SDKs in legitimate apps and modified versions of popular software. The malware primarily spreads through unofficial websites and modified apps, but two legitimate Google Play apps were also found to be infected. Kaspersky identified several malicious plugins associated with Necro, including those that display ads, download and execute files, facilitate subscription fraud, and use infected devices as proxies. The total number of infections is unknown, but at least 11 million devices were infected through Google Play.

Is this why some people don't mind the vivid calibration on Samsung phones?

Do people even call businesses anymore?

Those are the only phone calls I make these days. Everyone else can be reached by message and video calling.
