Enh, maybe it’s because I’m used to the English version, but I couldn’t imagine watching a whole episode like this.

The real problem with dubbing is that they usually have to redo all the sound effects without the director involved, including any natural sounds that would have been caught with the original dialogue. Audio is half of video, so it can change the director’s intent pretty drastically.

It sounds weird and I always go with subtitles for those reason.

Would they really need to do new foley for animation? It'd be completely separately recorded audio during production. I guess it just depends on which files the localizers have access to.

Yeah, these days they wouldn’t need to if they’re provided with the .proj or .xml or whatever they’re using for editing. King of the Hill is pretty old though and the scene change music in the video above sounds off to me so I think they did redo it all.
