Can you confirm that you think with L3, the result would look completely opposite and the summaries of the AI would always beat the human summaries? Because it sounds like you are implying that.

Lemmy users try not to make a strawman argument (impossible challenge)

No, that's not what I said, and not even close to what I was implying. If Llama 2 scored a 47% then 3.1 would score significantly better, easily over 60% at least. No doubt humans can be better at summarizing but A) It needs someone that's very familiar with the work and has great English skills and B) It needs a lot of time and effort.

The claim was never that AI can summarize better than people, it was that it can do it in 10 seconds and the result would be "good enough". People are already doing AI summaries of longer articles without much complaints.

I read the article. I'm aware it's an older study. Point still stands.

Watch it be more expensive than the steam deck as well.

It's using... Live action actors? I thought this was going to be a full on animated movie.

Looks about as lazy as I expected when I first heard it. I can't get over how bad the world looks though, it's like someone downloaded a 4K hyper realistic texture pack that doesn't look anything like the game itself.

I thought it was fine but it could have been great had it understood why people actually liked BOTW. The idea that you can just highlight every object in a 1km radius around you completely kills exploration, you're incentivized to just go from map marker to map marker instead of actually exploring the world.

I swap between gel and ballpoint depending on what I feel like using at the time. That said, I think ballpoints are generally better. In my experience gel pens run out a lot quicker and tend to bleed into the other side of the page since they have thicker lines. Also they smear easier and take longer to dry. There's a reason ballpoints are the de-facto pens, they're reliable and have the least downsides of any alternative. Also really cheap and last a very long time. There's a lot of garbage ballpoint pens out there but if you find a genuinely good one I think it can flow as smoothly as a good gel pen.

I tried a fountain pen once and my experience was similar to yours. It feels "exotic" but just has a lot of downsides and is easy to mess up your paper with them. It's probably good for people who have fantastic handwriting or like drawing and want to control ink thickness on the fly.

His wind up weapon deals a lot of damage if you can hold it over an enemy long enough. Normally though you'd want to hook someone, apply a bomb, then uppercut. That alone can deal 50%+ of an enemy's HP, and having teammates with you can almost guarantee a kill.

Wow, I expected they'll go straight to free-to-play but I guess the game has such a bad reputation that they decided to take it down completely. Refunds being issued is awfully nice though.

Another is DOOM Eternal, a game where you’re running at Crack addict speed, and then they put in this dude with a shield that reflects your whole way of doing damage.

Marauders? I actually kind of like them, they provide a new kind of threat that you can't just run over by unloading your weapons and quick swapping the gauss rifle. That said, fighting more than one at a time really does suck.

Changes that should have been there from the start, but at least they listened in the end. Being able to skip the long animations of each fight is a godsend.

A bit sad their next game is on hiatus, but I'm happy for them. I assume they'll be working on Deadlock since it's sort of similar to Risk of Rain 2.

The mod was made 3 years ago but Bethesda's official mod downloader is brand new. The page they took down was very recently made.

I mean fair enough honestly, if they're going to have a hard rule to not have poltics-driven mods on their store, there shouldn't be exceptions.

Shared on Discord. Looks great!

It's not just you, according to the developer on discord the MMR system isn't finished yet and isn't working properly. There's usually a skill gap in matches and it's pretty common to see people that are clearly better than everyone else and rack up 20+ kills.

It hasn't been too bad on my end, most of my games don't feel too unfair. Sometimes though a game is just over 20 minutes in due to snowballing. I also did feel like games got better the more I played so it might be that it evens out over time.

I'm genuinely shocked how much Epic poured into the store and it still lacks so much basic features. Sorting games is still extremely barebones, store is filled with NFT/crypto garbage, the store still looks like a college student's first front-end project, and last time I used the launcher to pick up free games (last year), it was still slow as hell. What were they doing in the past 5 years aside from dropping millions on exclusivity deals?

Epic is going to have to prioritize the store and try some new initiatives while also doubling down on earning pivotal exclusives if it is going to have a chance. I also hope other viable competitors arrive.
