This is one of the most fun police rules I think I've ever seen.

This is liberal propaganda and you can tell because there's no farts and no beans

[–] [email protected] 36 points 7 months ago (1 children)

This is a setup for some sort of "liberal media can't even tell I'm joking and that's why you should only trust articles written by me" sort of nonsense

I use passive civil language to defend the most disgusting and vile acts humanity has ever seen and that makes me a better human than you pearl-clutch

You can't. I'm still posting my trash bits on chapotraphouse comm. You can't stop me. You won't stop me. Red fash tankie authoritarian mods can't contain my bit posting power angery

Welcome to the polyamory community on Hexbear! Please stand by as we figure things out.

If you have ideas on things we can do to build engagement in the community, help provide a framework for safety in the community, or any other ideas that you think would contribute positively to the community, please post them here so we can get things going and ensure that this community is a healthy and postive one for everyone. Thank you! hexbear-polyam

Title.

In my experience there is a great deal of overlap between the polyamory community and a lot of our communities, so I'm sure we have at least some Hexbears that are interested. Also in my experience most polyamory communites online are full of cis straight white people trying to find out how they can find a cis queer woman to use as a toy...knowing full well that is NOT what any polyamorous Hexbears would be interested in discussing, I think this community could add a lot of value to the fediverse by being a different voice than the typical heteronormative polaymory communites, and help drive traffic to Hexbear and to the fediverse on the whole among people who are looking for a geninuely safe space to discuss polyamory. There aren't many, at least not that I'm aware of. All of the healthy polyamory communites I know of are offline, it would be nice to try to foster a healthy and safe one online too.

I'd be willing to mod it unless someone more experienced would like to volunteer, in which case please volunteer, and maybe teach me the ropes, or just take the project on yourself if you don't think I should be a part of it.

Anyway, open to feedback on this, maybe Hexbear is a bad place for it, maybe most Hexbears are monogamous and so nobody really would get value out of it, or maybe lots of people have been wishing we had this.

Never stop posting gigachad-hd

To all of our not so great posters: It's never too late to start ppb-gigachad

Kissinger has been the obvious prediction for years and years now, so the main question is: Who's next? It's fun to have a horrible ghoul to wish upon a star for, and there are so many to choose from, who do we keep an eye on?

The Libs of Lemmy love to complain about how Hexbear is both strong and weak, dying and yet still one of the top instances by post count. You know they look at Hexbear and are angry with our power but are powerless to stop it.

So it would be a funny bit to massively inflate our post count.

Okay don't go spam every thread that's probably not appropriate but instead post at least twice in this one and let's pump those posting numbers up.

If you need some ideas for things to post, try:

  • Your favorite emoji
  • A funny thing you saw this week
  • A word you like
  • A cool animal fact
  • Or something else

This reads like the Bit Idea Megathread.

Anyway that's the bit

If even one of you gets a post removed during one of these bit struggle sessions you failed the bit and should feel immense shame. Doing a bit successfully is Praxis.

Find things to struggle about that doesn't get out of hand. It's important to let off some steam now and again but do it in a way that doesn't harm your fellow comrades or add work to the mod team.

I'll start: Some beans are better than other beans. Like kidney beans are bad nasty icky beans but black beans are actually amazing.

Praxis is when you have a pair of grass stained green new balance with a hole in the sole because you're reducing, reusing, and recycling them when you mow your lawn every Saturday morning at 7 am sharp

yea

Saw this absolutely disgusting screed today from the American Hotel Lobby Association (yeah, that's a thing). I have some friends in a network who gets these and others, and I wanted to share with folks here too.

This is a real thing that is happening. This is what giving corporations a voice looks like. This is what neoliberal democracy is; organizations grouping together to build lobbying groups that advocate strongly for keeping homeless on the streets (and other horrible things of course).

I dunno I get these sorts of things pretty often, I can certainly share more of these if people want. They make me sad and angry every time I see them. I like to show these to libs to remind them that this is what the democracy that they swear by looks like.

Cameras? No. Pets. Play. Food. Those are her only options.

Also please keep posting your pets I want Hexbear to be a sea of cute animals surrounded by good political takes. The cute cuddly animal vanguard.

Sorry to the commies though this cat, colloquially called "Fluff", is absolutely an anarchist

My partner keeps trying to read it and they keep stopping and reading me passages and then looking up actual historical fact and going wtf, this book is nonsense? Does it get better?

I don't know I haven't read it. I told them I'd ask here. Does it get better? Is it anti communist propaganda or is the ridiculous anti communist screed that starts this book serious off just setup for something better?

Thanks for all the good answers I showed them the whole thread and they said a lot of what you all said is in line with their understanding. So basically the first bit is a caricature of the bad parts of early Chinese communism and then that gets better but it turns misogynist instead. Fun series. They'll continue to read because we have a lot of family and friends who LOVE the book and they want to understand why but it's helpful to have the lens on it
