No, but thank you though.

Eh, I'd say willingly believing obvious Russian Propaganda, and then even going so far as to say, *What's wrong with Russia? They aren't our enemy," in an attempt excuse their gullibility, makes them weird.

Yes, I have had this conversation with obviously gullible people here on Lemmy over the past year. I remember some guy saying how Tim Pool is such an intellectual. How he used to be this super liberal guy from Vice News until he saw the "truth" and became a ~~hardcore Alt-Right nutjob~~ staunch conservative.

Hundreds TO thousands. And crazy people.

Hell, look at the Arlington Cemetery worker that is scared to press charges because of the threats of crazy people. You tell people that REAL LIFE (descendants of) NAZI'S exist down the street and who the fuck knows what they'll do. People can be monstrous, especially so when you give them a reason to despise/fear/be enraged at someone else.

Mate, you be huffing so much of that Fox News, you done lost the plot. Your a conservative think-tanks favorite sort of stupid - easily swayed by fear and rage, moldable to be whatever zealot they need, and able to parrot a talking point without actually knowing what your talking about. Your a sheep brother. Baa! Lol

Remember, nows not the time to talk about gun rights. Thoughts and prayers....unless this was a foreign minority, in which case we need to be enraged and angry about how immigrants are ruining this country. You know the ol' song and dance.

I'm the primary cook in my family, and my wife loves it. But she also is a fantastic sous chef. She helps me out with everything.

It's awesome having an extra set of hands in the kitchen and is also great bonding time.

I dunno mate...at least a sperm is capable of impregnating a woman.

Fascinating read. Several scientists lost their jobs downplaying how bad of an idea this was...

What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall at their engineering meetings...it's gotta be a somber affair at this point.

Yeah, sorta.

  • 311 is a shit show. You have to pretty much get involved with your local government officials to get literally anything done, otherwise you can just live with your pothole.
  • City officials have had a hard on for a minor league baseball stadium for fucking YEARS. They asked Richmond citizens for their vote on it, and every single time people said fuck no. It's $110 million that could have been used to repair crumbling infrastructure, provide support programs, add additional affordable housing, repair our busted streets....noooo, why do that when we can go to a fucking minor league baseball game. Good idea Stoney. It's getting built by 2026. That'll for sure bring in money Stoney. Wonder what sort of kick back he's getting as he's only been pushing it for like 5 years.
  • City officials also hard a hard on for a casino to bring in additional "needed money" that they planned to throw in absolutely terrible locations. No one wanted it. I think we had to vote it down like half a dozen times. Petersburg, a ~~crumbling ruin~~ struggling town is now voting to add it. Just what it needs.
  • Look up the history of Jackson Ward.
  • Shcokoe Bottome still has buildings were destroyed in the flood back 30 years ago that have yet to be revitalized (but a fucking stadium is fine, right?)

Thats just off the top of my head. Love it here though. Just....lots of annoyances.

I've been dealing with this for months. I've received yet another drawing from a company calling "Diameters on a common axis/center to be 0.XX" TIR U.O.I. "

Total Runout requires a Datum. Your "common axis" is not a datum and can not referenced. It's driving me mad. Like, where did everyone get this notion that it's acceptable? It'd be one thing if it was just one or two drawings, but I'm into the dozens at this point. It's getting to the point that I'm starting to question if I'm either the one in the wrong or everyone has some sort of mass psychosis.

Am I in the wrong here?

Scientists and engineers have successfully tested a high-powered laser weapon mounted on a British Army combat vehicle.

According to the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the Ministry of Defence (MOD), this trial marks the first instance of such a weapon being fired from a UK land vehicle.

It's gotten everyone in our family and recently just got my daught 4 times yesterday. They are extremely painful and you feel waves of pain for hours. And just ONE OF THEM is capable of doing that. These bastards need to die, and I'm hoping you can help or point me in the direction of a community that can.

Any ideas?

I tried my hand at making a starter years ago and it went poorly. I was gifted some starter earlier this week and have been bulking it up in order to bake some bread this weekend. The starter is MUCH better than any of the ones I've ever made, so Ive had high hopes all week that my sourdough will actually come out decent this time.

I've been following this recipe, and it's been going....not well. Everything was weighed to the gram, including the starter, and "lukewarm" water was about 80ish degrees. The dough is so unbelievably sticky that I can barely scrape it off the sides of the bowl.

Is this normal? It's been years since I've done this so I'm back to questioning everything. I'm planning to just drop the whole thing into a Dutch oven and cook it, but I understand that I'm deviating from the recipe. My Dutch oven cooks were just so much better.

Cna anyone provide a better recipe for just a basic sourdough boule that you've had decent success with? I'd really like to continue baking bread, but I know for a fact that I'll wind up giving up again if I have too many failures (I think I baked 8 different times a few years ago, and I gave up because they were always so dense, and flat.). Really want something with a good, fluffy, stretchy crumb.

Any advice or questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
