A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks! I think our content philosophy aligns well with beehaw.org and our hope is that lemdro.id will support the overall health of the Fediverse by contributing to it's decentralization and supporting active moderation.

Thanks for the universal or localized or whatever you call it link (this thing [email protected])

That's something I hope the clients under development implements.. auto url localization any time someone links to an external instance.

Well, hope they add it in the official web ui as well but I figure they have more pressing things to do

lemmy-ui just landed a feature that looks for [email protected] in the text and turns them into correct links automatically!! I think its available if your instance is using 0.18.1+ which beehaw is.

That's such an important change! Awesome!

Why should we go there when there is a much bigger community over at [email protected] ?

I think its if you enjoyed the content and moderation of the reddit community, they are migrating here.

Because this was posted to a Beehaw community which is not currently federated with lemmy.world

Also, this one is the original moderation team from the Reddit community.
