breaking: every company ever responsible for anything has a history of suppressing employees who voice safety concerns. it is very firmly ingrained in the minds of at least americans that safety is for losers and that no one actually follows all those rules anyway.
I have a friend who works construction and he’s always whining about safety slowing him down and just like “bro, whatever you’re doing is not more important than your health and life..???”

The guys at my work are up in arms because the company is finally starting to implement lock out/tag out procedures. They think it's all a waste and commin sense will protect people from getting hurt, despite everyone here knowing multiple dudes that have lost fingers, hands, and even arms.
I got a couple minor injuries at work and now take everything very seriously. The only difference is that I get paid the same to do less work, more safely. Win-win considering it's a physical job.
