What would happen if capital succeeded in smashing the Republic of Soviets? I really hope that over the years China-Russia partnership gets stronger and that Chinese acceptance of LGBT equality grows, such that one day Russian chud attitudes towards LGBT issues are squashed out of the state.
There has been some regression in China over the past few years that is worrying to me. Significantly more anti-Western and anti-LGBT sentiment (which are being bunched up together) that I’m noticing than in the 2000/2010s. Those were the times of a more liberal era.
Maybe as the west turns on LGBT people the anti-West sentiment will shift towards support for LGBT.
I believe that China's leadership is smart enough to see that the Chinese LGBTQ+ community is not their enemy and that if they grant them their rights, it will prevent them from being used by Westerners to push for destabilization by claiming that China is some kind of anti-LGBTQ+ nation, something they already do with Russia, Africa and the Middle East. When, more often than not, these countries only have strong anti-LGBTQ+ views because of Western interference. Also, Cuba has the most LGBTQ+ friendly laws in the world, and I think Vietnam is following suit too.

I believe Hungary and Czechslovakia would eventually follow the GDR's example, maybe even the Soviet Union. But it would take long in more socially conservative countries like Poland and Albania.
I honestly don’t think the Chinese leadership cares, but then China is not run by a small group of people, you know.
One legit criticism against China is the censorship bureau, very likely run by a bunch of socially conservative boomers. There are very strict regulations about Chinese television shows and movies regarding politically and culturally sensitive subjects that you certainly cannot touch. There has been a lot of stories about Chinese film scripts being chopped to pieces and ended up as totally different stories from what the writers had originally intended. This is why you’ll never see anything like The Wire or Hollywood prestige television series with provocative social commentary coming out of China’s film industries.
So, yes, they still have certain influence over the cultural sphere in the country. And I doubt the leadership cares enough to intervene.

Cuba was once extremely homophobic but leadership accepted responsibility for its past and began moving forward even when gay rights were still contentious. It’s not impossible in this current era, and hopefully it accelerates as the boomers retire

If that were to happen, I’d hope China would eventually exercise their historical claim on Vladivostok and take over all of far eastern Russia for laughs. Neuter Putin’s oligarchy of CHUDs and bolster China’s strategic position between the US and Europe.
Something tells me the West would claim “international rules based bullshit” before that was allowed to happen, though.
All of the Western military forces being made to defend Russia instead of Taiwan would be very funny (also awful tens of thousands would die at least).

Bisexual Soviet coup when
Wait are the news coming out about it only now? IIRC this was announced back in January.
Anyway, what this means:

Organisations that provided legal support (for example for trans people that applied for gender marker change before the ban but got unjustly denied) cannot exist. There is no one to speak in legalese for us.

Display of flags, pins, or other stuff with rainbow/trans flag/etc. on them is "showing support for extremist organisations", repeated offence is punishable by jail time.

I, and everyone I know, have abandoned all hope for this place.
Edit: I kinda want to write stuff about what I have ingested from the environment in Russia (movies, TV, and other government-controlled outlets), but for it to happen I need to feel safe in doing it.
Edit 2: wikipedia page for LGBT rights in Russia. So the decision was made in 30 Nov. 2023, and IIRC it became active early January 2024.

When I first heard this I tried to be completely still; moving little as possible but I had to take a piss and then I got rly hungry and went to the grocery store and folks I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be put on Putins list

Probably a bit of both tbh. This has been spreading across the global south for some time. Anybody who talks about lgbt or gender-inclusive language will get jokes about being on the US payroll.
The neoliberals have gone all in on pinkwashing and the lgbt community does have a large number of America worshippers that have been involved in anti-government activities. This has only made people more suspicious towards them.
At the same time, right-wingers worship the US just as much with the exception of the nationalists. They’ve always hated lgbt and use the “US agent” angle as a convenient excuse to mistreat them.
The US aping right-wingers repeat the latest American Facebook memes from Matt Walsh while acting like only the gays are influenced entirely by the US.
Of course I’m talking from the perspective of Central America but it seems to be a common thing across other developing nations from what I’ve been hearing.
This is the consequences of rainbow imperialism and pinkwashing. Unfortunately we in the west did not do enough to clearly separate our progressive movements from Liberal cooption and so this is the result. You really hate to see it
