They take cracked games and compress their size down so that shipmates with low bandwidth can download them easier.

"world economic crisis" what?, she is in russia?
I mean, she’s never tried to hide the fact that she’s Russian. And she also hasn’t hidden the fact that she dislikes Putin. But lots of Europe is struggling right now. For instance, the farmers protesting across many parts of Europe, as a result of the war and Ukrainian exports.
She called him an old madman in the link posted. She's one of the good ones
Latvia
What's her super secret method that she can't share? Doesn't sound very open to me.
If i remember right from the many years ago i first came across her works, it's a compression method she personalized and finessed over time.
Middle out.
It's like jerking 4 dicks at once
But what's the mean jerk time?
I just had to watch that scene again, I just love it so much
I prefer and default to fitgirl, but I'll admit that sometimes the long unpack time doesn't seem worth the sometimes only 1-5gb file size difference.
It’s primarily meant for people who have slow connections. If you’re downloading a game over DSL or satellite (which is often the only thing available unless you’re in an urban/suburban area) then the 5GB of extra compression could be a huge time difference. It’s also true for metered connections, where you have to pay by the GB, or where you have a data cap.
It's pretty relevant for people who archive too because it can add up to terrabytes of difference if you're backing up everything.
Can confirm, 5gb extra is about 9 more hours of downloading, presuming everything goes well
I think there's likely a lot of people still on slower links that benefit for sure.
But as gigabit and better Internet becomes more mainstream, it's certainly less of a problem for those with that.
Is fitgirl even a girl?
The real question is: is she fit?
Her photo implies that she is at least lean.
Fitgirl presents as a woman therefore she is a girl. I don't walk by people on the street and wonder what's in their pants all day.
The plumbing also doesn't define which pronouns someone prefers.
Had anyone seen Empress and Fitgirl in the same room at the same time?
actually after empress went crazy, fitgirl pledged that she wouldn't reoack empresses games
Supernatural spirit from an alternate reality hell-bent on destroying video game monopolies.
Is there an alternative to fitgirl that doesn't have the long uncompress / unpack times? I love that fitgirl has everything and is a trusted source, but the decompression takes too long and sometimes doesn't even work on Linux.
Isn't that like 90% of the point of the repack? To heavily compress things and drastically reduce the download size of a game?
Then I suppose I am looking for a download resources that aren't repacks, or at least aren't so heavy and convoluted on the way they pack.
What I liked about fitgirl is the reputation. A resource I can trust and quality is consistent.
I am also looking for this. I default to fitgirl because its the only trustworthy source in the scene that i know.
Oc i can just try and find a torent myself but with so many fakers out there, people uploading game files even if there is no working crack available, it feels like gambling.
To me that's fair, this is the price of good compression and to me it's worth it.
However what I don't like is the forced admin rights request, which is totally unnecessary. This is the reason I very rarely use their repacks. I know they are trusted, but I chose to not choose them.
