It probably would have taken less effort to get another job at a different restaurant. Why would you even want to go back to work at a place where you think the manager is a bitch?

Waiter gets a raise. This is fiction.

Ego satisfaction is hell of a drug...

Then protracting success is ego edging

I hate Google, the dungeon master.

If there were no players, the game wouldn't exist.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

sadly our entire species loves games

When managers chase arbitrary targets, they make arbitrary decisions, which can be easily manipulated.

Metrics become meaningless as soon as they become targets

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

I believe Economists call it Goodhart’s law. “When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure”.

Must be from a small town, because there isn't a restaurant in any big city that would give a shit.

It's generally a bad idea to create fake Google accounts, if you have a primary account you don't want banned.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I have had probably a hundred accounts through google, all of them almost 100℅ connected to me and have not had an issue in 20 years I used google.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Did you use them to create fraudulent restaurant reviews?

How do you make so many accounts without it having to ask for a phone number? I sometimes try to create accounts just to signup to things I know will send spam; but Gmail asks for a phone number and I give up because what's the point if I have to give Google my number

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Create your account more slowly to avoid a phone number request, Google thinks you’re just ancient. As always, avoid poisoning your IP by changing it after every new account. I’ve successfully used and discarded like 40 google accounts.

You used to be able to just press skip instead of using a phone for a back up.

Online SIMs exist.

Check if they're legal in your area though.

The person literally said Jews are going to accuse us of antisemitism no matter what so we might as well accuse them of genocide...

This is my concern with the whole movement.

You guys are spending your time defending obvious anti semitism instead of doing anything to defend the Palestinian people.

If you truly believe a genocide is happening, than what you are doing to help is not good enough.

Henlo, I’m here to inform you that your app is a little fucky wucky. It replied to the wrong comment on the wrong post.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Oh fuck, thank you for letting me know.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It happened to someone else here as well. Out of curiosity, are you using sync?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

Huh, the other was sync. Weird…

[–] [email protected] 11 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Is this in their TOS somewhere? I am 99.99% this isn’t enforced and there are many professional and private reasons to have multiple accounts.

Edit: I guess if you actively try to cheat the system by exploiting multiple accounts. But i thought the post was a possibly fake funny and not a suggestion/endorsment.

You should have dropped your 3 star reviews to 2 and change them to something like "So nice that the polite waiter came back, but his boss is a giant insufferable cunt."

[–] [email protected] 19 points 8 months ago

Don’t push your luck.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 8 months ago

sounds like bullshit, if the manager wasn't being asked personally about "the missing nice waiter" even once, she most likely wouldn't be taking all that much stock in a couple yelp reviews, and when was the last time you heard about a waiter "getting a raise", lol
