I refuse to believe that false flags are a thing (I haven’t looked into the idea because I’m scared) but I just saw a story from local news outlets about how the department of homeland security is warning people to watch out for potential “Moscow-related attacks” on large gatherings

Isn’t there a big eclipse coming up

This is something that deeply fascinates me. Didn’t Lenin say something about the message

Have seen so many otherwise tame people go mask off fash because you can’t argue with logic (never mind the root cause of the logic in question)

I am seriously fucking terrified. I think philosophy might be dead thanks to pompous tech bros

Especially with TikTok+ this year’s taxes 😵‍💫 the average person isn’t going to realize that the 2017 tax bill is biting people this year (me included), and it’s much easier to blame genocide Joe.

Kinda pissed lololol I make a squarely average amount of money and owe 2K. Love it here

Reminds me of how graeber talks about the social value of bridges in bullshit jobs

Have not been able to find any formalized/cohesive literature online

If not, I feel like this might be my calling

I think I’m falling for my internet pen pal (who really seems much more than that). I don’t know what the fuck happened, but some redditor messaged me about a very niche post I made on a niche subreddit and we’ve been talking for almost 6 months.

I’ve never seen them, they’ve never seen me, etc. But like I said we’ve been messaging (first on Reddit then I got their number) pretty consistently now.

It’s truly bizarre but I think I found someone who understands me idk weird af

Maybe those go hand-in-hand but when I tell you it’s bad, it’s bad. I am the person who is clowned for not recognizing x country on a map

What would be the best way to complete such a feat

I know some people who watch leftish content (mostly just for entertainment) on YouTube and when those people tell me something makes them mad, my first instinct is to encourage them to do something on the end.

When I hear those types of reactions, I almost look at it like theory through an entirely different medium. Does that make sense or is this just a case where I should let people enjoy things

Also, it really seems like people don’t understand the electoral process as much as they think.

Say that some kind of left populist was (somehow) received the most electoral votes. I feel like I can say with near absolute certainty that the delegates who actually vote would not allow this to happen and even if they did, another entity with more power would stall the process and/or change the rules, and everyone would accept that as normal.

This is why I believe voting at the national level is fundamentally pointless. How anyone can believe they’re making a difference at this point is beyond me.

Ignoring the genocide for just a sec (what a fucking wild sentence) but at this point, I don’t even think Biden would be better for minorities than Trump. Because it really comes down to STaTeS RIgHts at the end of the day, and if you live in a red state, you’re not going to change anything without collective organization

It was definitely a movie. It also definitely made white men very angry, I guarantee it.

Kinda sad to think about, the internet as we know it is sorta on life support. We’re like steps away from blending our personal life with our work life. Shit’s terrifying

I’m probably just talking consequences of enshitification. But it’s so wild that it’ll get worse agony-shivering

Just another chapter in our very boring dystopia. Millions of Americans desperately searching for some sense of community and attaching themselves to a billionaire’s chess game and developing a parasocial relationship with their team, all for some fleeting dopamine

Sounds like everything else in America eh

[-] [email protected] 30 points 7 months ago

Honestly, this is one of the only places I can go to sorta check my sanity. I get that we live in an endless age of information and every “bad thing” is at your fingertips blah blah, but what about when the bad things show up at your front door.

It’s as if people act like “the information age” isn’t literally an illustration of things happening to people living in the world.

It’s like a bad movie where the whole town isn’t concerned about the killer until people in the city start dying. And even that isn’t an apt comparison because the killer is here and no one gives a fuck (idk might be a huge stretch but that’s where my brain went for some reason)

[-] [email protected] 28 points 7 months ago

!!!! I try to tell this to people too and they tell me I’m anxious/getting ahead of myself.

truly incomprehensible to me. My dad was the only one working while I was growing up and he as somehow able to provide for myself as well as my other siblings.

It’s almost gotten to a point where I cannot talk about these things because it quickly becomes a conversation about my “inability to adapt” or whatever other bullshit

I didn’t know either until I came face to face with an aspiring “organizer” in the DNC network

These people are so fundamentally useless, and I am convinced that they only do what they do so they can feel good about following the rules (designed to prevent anything from changing)

[-] [email protected] 40 points 8 months ago

Didn’t that shit get banned or something because Fascists got their feelings hurt

[-] [email protected] 54 points 8 months ago

Governors do the most fash shit while no one is paying attention. Indiana’s governor signed a bill banning youth gender affirming care on his way out, and those on medication right now will be cut off at the end of the year if it holds up
