called me the w-word (white )
"Which is a whole \ worse than the N-word! So I'd appreciate if you not make fun"
We actually prefer the term "melanin challenged" these days
exhibit a: a picture of the cop being white
exhibit b: a picture of the cop being a cop
on the grounds of the cop being stupid, a bastard, and verifiably white, we move to acquit
Racist slur
'she called a cop “a stupid white bastard” '
It’s really funny that Brits still consider the word bastard the most profane. I thought that was just something you see in medieval and Victorian shows
It’s like traveling into an alternate dimension where people are still scandalized by ankles
Racial Slur Not Detected
The r/soccer threads on this have been consistently dreadful. I didn't think it was a massive deal before the details dropped. Now especially don't see anything wrong at all and think it's hilarious how enraged so many are. I just wish she used some thing more creative then "stupid white bastard".
ACASWB
Yeah and she should say it again
Ya stupid white bastard
Nah, mate, the thing is you didn't say in their true blue lingo
if you just called him a 'Brit c-unt', it'd be fine and the copper's gonna get you a pint... that's how Ozzie and Roadmen speak goes, right?
@[email protected] @[email protected] , back me up?
innit
yes
God white people are insufferable
"It's fine to insult white people for being white" is a bad battle for the left to pick. There's nothing to gain, and the approach of "you shouldn't rip on anyone for their skin color" (to say nothing of any other characteristic outside of one's control) is hard to refute.
Okay but like, everyone here is laughing at the fact that "stupid white bastard" was apparently considered a slur. Like she didn't even say cracker or anything but I guess just saying someone is white is bad optics now or whatever.
If you think it's a problem, why don't you ask the mods to start banning it, and remove all the emojis while we're at it?
If you don't understand why "stupid white bastard" is ok but "stupid black bastard" is not, then you don't actually understand racism. You just think it's when you're mean about someone's skin color, not when you're systematically ruining an entire group of people because of their skin color.
If your definition of racism doesn't include "animosity based on skin color," it's not a good definition. That is an extremely common way the word is actually used.
It's good to talk to people about how this sort of comment is different when it's directed at a white person vs. a black person; it's silly to say there's nothing wrong with disparaging someone's skin color as long as they're white.
Hexbear decided you're wrong about this 3 years ago because racism is systemic racism apparently (don't ask me why systemic racism exists as a phrase if all racism is inherently systemic)
How about I phrase it this way for you bow tie wearing dorks and reddit debate perverts. If anti-white racism is real, then it's fine and funny. If interpersonal animosity based on skin color is always "racism" then this type of behavior towards whites is fine. That satiate your rationality idealist framing enough for you to shut the fuck up? Yeah I'm an anti-white racist, so what? "whiteness" is a pathetic construct in a way that no other ethnicity is, a void of identity, and nobody should want to be part of it.
see my whole thing is basically:
you're kinda dumb if you think this tack is in any way good propaganda and the fact that even comrades being kinda like ehhhh about it should maybe tip you off to the fact that saying "you can't be racist against white people" will do literally nothing except radicalize more cracker ass liberals towards reaction because it feels wrong to them and no amount of debatelord "🤓🤓🤓 akshually racism requires systemic power behind it to be real racism 🤓🤓🤓" is going to get through past that initial kneejerk reaction, regardless of whether or not your argument about racism is correct to begin with, so maybe you should be like idk mindful of that
love this site and i get in on making fun of white people too (and for the record I am pro calling this cop a stupid white bastard) but like god damn I hope nobody on here is involved in any kind of revolutionary propaganda effort
and if you think "well if people will go reactionary just because people were mean to them they're baby brained morons" then you might be right, people are baby brained morons, maybe be mindful of how that affects their behavior
bow tie wearing dorks and reddit debate perverts
so ironic that that is so much how I feel about you lmao
your meta optics and worrying about what others might think is a disingenuous way to just say what you think. You feel offended and othered by the anti-white racism, you aren't worried about hypothetical others and optics. We're on hexbear ffs. I was honest and just outright stated why I don't care about this argument, the least you could do is be honest as well that cracker is offensive to you.
damn I typed a whole ass response to this without realizing you didn't even really respond to me at all, like, literally 0 words addressing why this entire argument about racism = systemic racism even exists, just raging at me
You still on this kick huh?
The fact that acti-rasciism legistion is being used to protect a white person proves you are wrong about this. I am sorry. Mayocide memes are the only way
you're not oppressed for your skin color
Bruh next thing you'll be whining about heterophobia, cisphobia, anti-American sentiment, Christianophobia, and ableism against the able-bodied. That's exactly how you sound. There's an unambiguous oppressor v oppressed dynamic that makes jabs at the former group trivial in comparison and if you can't see that idk what to say. Please lecture us next on how the "tissues for cissues" emoji is just as offensive and bigoted as a "trans tears" mug
I mean Sam Kerr is a white Australian. Her calling a white English cop a white bastard is not a big deal, unless you want to make the argument that she's somehow being racist to herself by doing this.
A white person ripping on another white person for being white sounds like the type of performative self-flaggelation discussed in this thread.
Besides, of course people can make prejudiced comments about groups they're part of. Look at Shahrazad Ali, Phyllis Schlafly, or basically any reactionary who isn't a white cis guy.
i don't really care about "the left" or whatever. Using white as an insult can be funny
To get technical. White isn't a race. Black became a race since our past was stolen and we have no direct ties to where we came from(though that leads to race being a construct anyway but that's another convo). White was created to racialize/otherise and barely means anything today beyond a descriptor. Before white people were just Irish or British or wherever white people come from.
If it bothers you so much, then do more to fight the existing power structure, because this sort of thing won't go away until white supremacy does.
I agree. But I also believe that 99.99% of white people do not care about ”slurs” towards them because they have nothing to fear, and it’s just a personal offense like calling someone a rock head or dumbass. White people should care if they get called honkey or redneck since those are classist terms for poor white people, and they’re being systemically discriminated against.
I kinda agree but also like think it's nerd shit because it doesn't actually hurt any white people.
Wrong. Racism has systemic and structural components to it. You can't be racist to white people in white ~~majority~~ supremacist countries. Like, by definition.
lmao
