If your definition of racism doesn't include "animosity based on skin color," it's not a good definition. That is an extremely common way the word is actually used.

It's good to talk to people about how this sort of comment is different when it's directed at a white person vs. a black person; it's silly to say there's nothing wrong with disparaging someone's skin color as long as they're white.

Hexbear decided you're wrong about this 3 years ago because racism is systemic racism apparently (don't ask me why systemic racism exists as a phrase if all racism is inherently systemic)

How about I phrase it this way for you bow tie wearing dorks and reddit debate perverts. If anti-white racism is real, then it's fine and funny. If interpersonal animosity based on skin color is always "racism" then this type of behavior towards whites is fine. That satiate your rationality idealist framing enough for you to shut the fuck up? Yeah I'm an anti-white racist, so what? "whiteness" is a pathetic construct in a way that no other ethnicity is, a void of identity, and nobody should want to be part of it.

see my whole thing is basically:

you're kinda dumb if you think this tack is in any way good propaganda and the fact that even comrades being kinda like ehhhh about it should maybe tip you off to the fact that saying "you can't be racist against white people" will do literally nothing except radicalize more cracker ass liberals towards reaction because it feels wrong to them and no amount of debatelord "🤓🤓🤓 akshually racism requires systemic power behind it to be real racism 🤓🤓🤓" is going to get through past that initial kneejerk reaction, regardless of whether or not your argument about racism is correct to begin with, so maybe you should be like idk mindful of that

love this site and i get in on making fun of white people too (and for the record I am pro calling this cop a stupid white bastard) but like god damn I hope nobody on here is involved in any kind of revolutionary propaganda effort

and if you think "well if people will go reactionary just because people were mean to them they're baby brained morons" then you might be right, people are baby brained morons, maybe be mindful of how that affects their behavior

bow tie wearing dorks and reddit debate perverts

so ironic that that is so much how I feel about you lmao

your meta optics and worrying about what others might think is a disingenuous way to just say what you think. You feel offended and othered by the anti-white racism, you aren't worried about hypothetical others and optics. We're on hexbear ffs. I was honest and just outright stated why I don't care about this argument, the least you could do is be honest as well that cracker is offensive to you.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago (2 children)

FURTHERMORE honestly as a cracker I think white people deserve a little racism, I just think it's some fucky linguistic shell game that does nothing but piss (white) people off to not call it that when it's directed towards them shrug-outta-hecks

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

can you give me the pass

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It only pisses SOME white people off because they're still tied to this belief that white is a race that can be oppressed when it's all, and always been, imaginary reaction to the real racism their ancestors created and never did anything meaningful to abolish that they might feel guilty about but don't know how to channel. And if we say fine, anti white racism exist then what? What does that accomplish? What's the end goal? This is some white south africans are oppressed bullshit.

okay you could think I'm being disingenuous for whatever reason instead of like considering what I said, thanks

You feel offended and othered by the anti-white racism,

no I just disagree with the assertion that it literally cannot exist, when the arguments as to why that is the case basically boil down to "it's not real racism if it's not systemic racism." That's what people are saying when they say it isn't real unless there is institutional backing, that racism requires "power plus privilege," they're literally talking about the concept of systemic racism. So why the fuck does the phrase systemic racism even exist if, to be racism, the racism must be systemic?

I am always bothered by this whenever it comes up just because I think the argument is fucking wrong. I think if someone out there actually does or says some prejudiced shit against someone solely because they are white, that is racism, and the 5d chess game trying to say that no that's just sparkling bigotry unless like the government and all of society support that bigotry is stupid and unproductive and helps literally nobody.

"whiteness" is a pathetic construct in a way that no other ethnicity is, a void of identity, and nobody should want to be part of it.

Did you ever address this? There are numerous people with light skin who do not fall under the category of "white" because it is a fabricated race category based on historical privilege. As for the "systemic" argument, this seems to just be wordplay mixing systemic context with systemic enforcement? When people talk about systemic racism, they're talking about racism enforced by the system (government, police/prisons, ordinary institutions), whereas the racism being discussed is found in interactions, and even if you took a white and a black person to a deserted island where there would be no material forces from the outset creating oppression of one by the other, the white's racism still takes on a historical/systemic context in the race relations evoked. And yet there is no state apparatus/system in place to enforce discrimination. So clearly "racism" and "systemic racism" do not mean the same thing.

"if you took a white person and a black person to an island and the cracker was racist" like okay??

Did you ever address this?

did you ever address deez nutz? why would I want ot argue with some rando like 5 hours later about this, I commented on like someone else'es comment and then some entirely different person came at me like I was that guy, and now you, hey buddy <3

I love that this post about sea lioning was on here the other day and here you are doing it demanding rational discourse on a point made in like what some totally other comment chain I didn't even read? and I'm the reddit debatelord lmao

You don't have to reply to this, but what the hell are you even talking about? The part I quoted was from this comment chain, in a reply to a comment you made, and you even replied to that reply twice. And that reply to my first point is such nonsense.

why would I want ot argue with some rando like 5 hours later about this, I commented on like someone else'es comment and then some entirely different person came at me like I was that guy, and now you, hey buddy <3

I'm not confusing you with anyone else? It seems like you actually confused me with someone else using the "reddit debate" comment as proof of hypocrisy. As for why you would want to argue with someone five hours later, that's up to you, and you could have chosen not to reply.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

damn I typed a whole ass response to this without realizing you didn't even really respond to me at all, like, literally 0 words addressing why this entire argument about racism = systemic racism even exists, just raging at me
