okay you could think I'm being disingenuous for whatever reason instead of like considering what I said, thanks
no I just disagree with the assertion that it literally cannot exist, when the arguments as to why that is the case basically boil down to "it's not real racism if it's not systemic racism." That's what people are saying when they say it isn't real unless there is institutional backing, that racism requires "power plus privilege," they're literally talking about the concept of systemic racism. So why the fuck does the phrase systemic racism even exist if, to be racism, the racism must be systemic?
I am always bothered by this whenever it comes up just because I think the argument is fucking wrong. I think if someone out there actually does or says some prejudiced shit against someone solely because they are white, that is racism, and the 5d chess game trying to say that no that's just sparkling bigotry unless like the government and all of society support that bigotry is stupid and unproductive and helps literally nobody.
Did you ever address this? There are numerous people with light skin who do not fall under the category of "white" because it is a fabricated race category based on historical privilege. As for the "systemic" argument, this seems to just be wordplay mixing systemic context with systemic enforcement? When people talk about systemic racism, they're talking about racism enforced by the system (government, police/prisons, ordinary institutions), whereas the racism being discussed is found in interactions, and even if you took a white and a black person to a deserted island where there would be no material forces from the outset creating oppression of one by the other, the white's racism still takes on a historical/systemic context in the race relations evoked. And yet there is no state apparatus/system in place to enforce discrimination. So clearly "racism" and "systemic racism" do not mean the same thing.
"if you took a white person and a black person to an island and the cracker was racist" like okay??
did you ever address deez nutz? why would I want ot argue with some rando like 5 hours later about this, I commented on like someone else'es comment and then some entirely different person came at me like I was that guy, and now you, hey buddy <3
I love that this post about sea lioning was on here the other day and here you are doing it demanding rational discourse on a point made in like what some totally other comment chain I didn't even read? and I'm the reddit debatelord lmao
jfc
You don't have to reply to this, but what the hell are you even talking about? The part I quoted was from this comment chain, in a reply to a comment you made, and you even replied to that reply twice. And that reply to my first point is such nonsense.
I'm not confusing you with anyone else? It seems like you actually confused me with someone else using the "reddit debate" comment as proof of hypocrisy. As for why you would want to argue with someone five hours later, that's up to you, and you could have chosen not to reply.
