Breadtube if it didn't suck.
Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.
Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.
There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.
A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

I just wanna congratulate anyone with the patience and attention span to play any sort of RPG after puberty
I stopped being able to play Fire Emblem after I turned 14, that shit turned into busywork fast, same with pokemon
What does puberty have to do with it wouldnt you be more impatient as a small child? Huh.
(I accidentally hit back on my Lemmy client so I'm retyping this post from memory and it's much less coherent than before, so my apologies)
I was able to get much more immersed in games/books as a kid compared to now, and I also tend to optimize the fun out of games. As an adult, Pokémon Blue is just a game where you spam a few moves with overleveled Pokémon and faceroll the entire kid. As a child, it was definitely a bit more challenging, but more importantly, I genuinely felt like I was going on an adventure. I was able to fill out the little four-tone pixelated 2D environment with my imagination and fully inhabit the world of the protagonist
I recognize that Gen I Pokémon games aren't exactly the pinnacle of RPG achievement, but I've been unable to get into much more critically acclaimed series like Xenoblade Chronicles, Persona, and Final Fantasy. The one exception that comes to mind is Undertale, which is pretty different from most RPGs in terms of mechanics, length, and gameplay-to-story ratio (and essentially unoptimizable in a casual P-route playthrough). My tendencies are why I found Outer Wilds to be such a breath of fresh air (highly immersive, impossible to optimize) and why I enjoy the Resident Evil series so much (optimization is encouraged by both the setting and the game design, so saving ammo and finding clever ways to dispatch enemies is rewarding and increases immersion without trivializing difficulty. Also funny B-movie dialogue).
Generally speaking, I get much more out of watching someone play RPGs than playing them myself. I watched a full playthrough of Final Fantasy X and loved the streamer giving all this extra context about characters and what the game meant to them (it was their favorite game and they'd beaten it like a dozen times). I'm also watching a Pokémon Violet playthrough right now where the streamer only has a vague idea about type match-ups and chooses their party more based on aesthetics than anything else, leading to much more dynamic gameplay and a more diverse set of Pokémon (since they often get swapped out for new ones). I'm sure I'll end up finding another RPG that I love at some point, but I don't seek them out because they just don't line up with my mentality and playstyle much anymore.
Experiancing games through other people can be a lot of fun! Im especially glad you were able to experiance that with X because theres a lot of cool things about it. Can you link that playthrough btw?
I realized that the playthrough I watched wasn't actually a full playthrough, and I think it stops not long after they

get to ZanarkandIt's her all-time favorite game (had a big influence on her, including inspiring her to try to become a voice actor IIRC), and she has a habit of not finishing playthroughs because it's too sad to finish the game. From the VTuber Wiki:
However, she did do a full playthrough not long after the one I watched—here's the playlist! I should go back and watch it from where the old one left off so I can see it through to the end.
Oh a Nyanners playthrough. Ive watched her before. Nice ill check it out.
nah, I cared more about fiction crap when I was a child
