Upon reflection, chit-chat is maybe not my preferred option. Especially when 'chat' is a euphemism for a flea. As in riding 'flat chat', which means galloping fast while holding your body so close to your horse's neck that the fleas get squashed between. And chat potatoes, which refers to spuds so small as to resemble fleas. Chit-chat means small talk. Very small talk. Not my preference. The DT does more than that.
Maybe 'Daily Ramblings'???
Or just leave it as Daily Discussion Thread - which is accurate and not demeaning. And we're all accustomed to it.
I vote for the old name
Same
Seconded

Unless someone proposes something super good and near unanimous, tomorrow will be the ddt again
Never thought it would be this controversial. People are passionate towards the unaesthetic Daily Discussion Thread name.
I don't mind it. It describes what it is, and it's been that for many many years - everybody already knows what it is, what it's called, and what time or happens. I was also considering if there might be people who are subscribed to the sub but want nothing to do with the DT. Since it's posted by just random people, they might block the phrase "daily discussion thread" since that unanimously used across them all
Agree. I like the old name. Customised with emojis, weather report, whatever. A little pocket of stability
