I'm a completionist, so I always do everything possible in game. Strictly speaking, you only must get the sail, and you can head straight to Ganon if you're feeling mighty.
The image of low power Link charging in and beating Gannon has me remembering that streamer that made it like ~~90~~ 95 hours into the game before triggering the tutorial of Breath of the Wild

I'm skeptical she managed to beat three of the four beasts without stumbling upon backflips, side hops, or charged attacks.
Fair enough, may have been staged, I've never played the game. Last Zelda game I played was Majora's Mask
I am far from mighty. If anything, I am straight up bad at combat. On my first master mode playthrough I did duck into the castle to get the shield, but afterwards went right back to do/find all the things mode.
