Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

AUSTIN, Texas – Leaked video shows Hood County Constable Scott London, Hood County GOP Chair Steve Biggers and Hood County GOP Chair candidate Greg Harrell attending a meeting held by Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX) where they supported the death penalty for women who seek abortions or use IVF, including pregnant minors. London and Harrel have also signed onto a pledge from the same group vowing to abolish all circumstances of abortion care in Texas.

Too broad a stroke friend, conservatism is by definition the inclination to maintain the existing or traditional order. It's conservative to vote, its conservative to protest, and it's conservative to show the landed gentry a short walk to a long drop.

The GOP isn't conservative they are opportunistic regressive xenophobes finding joy in making people's lives worse using the flaws in a system that can't work without everyone participating in good faith

Your defense of conservatism is incongruent with the historical tendency of every nation's most conservative population to oppress the vulnerable.

Your definition of the word conservative is impractical as it casts all participants of a functional culture as conservatives. In this way, you and I have different definitions of the word, which makes this an unimportant argument of semantics, rather than a profound ideological debate.

You prefer to defend conservatives by re-labelling them as something distinct, but this only allows conservatives to wiggle out of the crosshairs over and over again as they point to the "other" conservatives as the culprit of their collective behavior.

If it’s conservative to do any of those things then all democrats are conservative. Which isn’t true so this is not correct.

Conservative is a political party. And it should be illegal.

Eh, your democrats in the US are Conservative to Europe. Your "left wing" is pretty much on par with our right wing.
