There has been more nonsense being posted overnight from Youtube that I need to post this thread again. Remember to refrain from posting unverified nonsense here. Youtubers (especially non reliable ones) are just out there to get clicks and they know as much as you and I. Performance leaks usually comes closer to announcement and pricing is the last thing the be determined. So keep that in mind.

Free your mind from manufactured outrage.

Now, on to the post

First, let's go over Rule 8 - No Unsubstantiated Rumors & Discussions.

No unsubstantiated rumors or conspiracies. Rumor posts are allowed but it must link back to a reputable source.

What this rule is trying to accomplish is for this subreddit to have generally reliable rumors posted while weeding out less reliable rumors and other nonsense. Obviously rumors will always be rumors and nothing is certain until they are officially announced but we're doing everything we can to stick to the most reliable rumors and disregard noises and nonsense.

This means, the following are allowed:

The following are NOT allowed:

  • Post linking to known unreliable sources for NVIDIA
    • Examples: A certain Youtube channel with 4 words in their name, Random social media account, Random Youtube account, etc
  • Standalone post discussing specific leaks whether they are coming from reputable or unreliable sources
    • Examples: Post discussing specs of rumored GPU or rumored pricing of certain SKU, Post talking about your opinion (or other people's opinion) on certain rumors.

Here's the bottom line:

  • Do:
    • Take rumors with grains of salt. Even ones from reliable leakers but especially ones from unreliable sources.
    • Realize that specs can and will change until they are finalized. Price is usually the last thing to be determined.
    • Post links to reliable sources.
  • Don't:
    • Don't believe everything you read/watch online and then get upset over it and posting it online.
    • Don't post standalone discussion thread on specific rumors. All discussions should be contained within the post linking back to specific sources.
    • Don't post links to unreliable sources or general nonsense.

Remember, this rumor season should be somewhat fun to anticipate what lies ahead. Take rumors with grains of salt and enjoy the ride.

Cheers

Is it a good idea to upgrade my 3080 to a used 4080, taking advantage of those offloading 4080's for the new 5000 series? Or will it be better value for me to sell 3080 and get a 5080 soon?

My monitor: MSI 27" 240 Hz QD-OLED QHD Gaming Monitor 2560 x 1440 (2K) MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2

GPU: RTX 4080 super

For some context if I launch WoW Classic with GSYNC enabled in Nvidia control panel + adaptive sync set to ON in my monitor's settings I can open my monitor's settings and see the hz value is rapidly changing from numbers between 60 and 240 + I see some screen tearing.

If I enable adaptive sync on my monitor, but disable GSYNC in Nvidia control panel the hz value I see in my monitor's settings stays at 240 and I don't get screen tearing.

I was told I should enable GSYNC in Nvidia control panel + enable adaptive sync on my monitor, but I seem to get issues with both of them enabled. Any explanation/advice?

In WoW's graphics settings I don't have any target/max FPS options enabled

I’ve always had an aversion to lesser known custom GPU’s like XFX or Colorful. But it’s been pointed out that they pretty much just slap a supposedly better cooler on the chip. Is there any truth to that, or do they actually change something that makes the chip better/worse? Would love to trust the lesser known brands, but I just don’t know what changes are/aren’t made and how to spot them.

Wich has the best performance and is the best option for Unreal Engine 5 for someone pretending to make heavy scenes and projects:

1 - Used RTX 3070 8GB 2. - New RTX 4060 8Gb

P.S - Same price on local currency, average $2.000

Bonjour, je voudrais avoir votre avis je dispose actuellement d’un i9 9900k avec une RTX 3080 TI pensez-vous que mon processeur est trop faible ?

Si telle est le cas je pensais prendre un 12900k !

I usually upgrade my PC every ~2 years, and I’m at a crossroads right now. My current setup is a 13900K paired with a TUF 3090 Ti, which I bought in October 2022. I’m not super dialed into hardware news, but I’ve deduced the next-gen of GPUs are on the horizon this spring. Coupled with the performance of the 9800X3D, I'm thinking that is the right time to upgrade.

Here’s my dilemma:

I bought the 3090 Ti for just $990 two years ago, which is still below what most used cards are going for on eBay today. I bought that level of GPU specifically to drive DCS in VR, which apparently is an absolutely epic VRAM hog. On most benchmarks, though, the 3090 is starting to lag a bit, and I'm sure the 5000 series will push it further down.

The rumored prices of the 5090 seem insane, and if I went for the 5080 (my likely pick), it’d (probably, based on the leaked specs) be a downgrade in VRAM (24GB → 16GB). That makes me hesitant.

Here are the options I’m considering:

  1. Sell the 3090 Ti now and move to a 7900 XTX. It’s got the same VRAM, better performance overall, and costs under $1k, so the swap would be nearly cost-neutral. I’d maximize the 3090’s resale value before the 5000 series drops, but I haven’t used an AMD GPU in 15+ years and I’m unsure about the platform.
  2. Swap the 3090 Ti for a 5080. This will cost more, as the 3090’s resale value will likely drop after the 5000s release. I'm sure the 5080 will be a performance beast, but the 16GB VRAM worries me for DCS purposes.
  3. Stick with the 3090 Ti for now, upgrade CPU/mobo, and wait for the 6000(?) series or something else later. The 3090 Ti still runs most games I play at max settings, and I could delay the GPU upgrade until the next-next gen.

What would you do? Anything pertinent I'm missing? Any advice is appreciated!

As somebody who is not super familiar with the intricate architecture and specs of GPUs but understand that they perform operations in parallel vs sequential CPU, there is no way a product like this compares to the more expensive GPUs out there. Seems like a product for surface level PC builders. Please inform. What is the use case?

Should I go for the Palit GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GamingPro or Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Windforce V2? I wanted to buy the Gigabyte one but then I read about all the customer support problems and now I don't know. Also the Windforce V2 supposedly has some cooling issues? What do you guys think?

I own a Zotac 1650, i'm thinking to upgrade so I can play MH Wilds, is better to have a MSI Ventus2x 3060 12GB or a ASUS V2 4060 8GB? both are in almost the same price range new, where I live the 6750xt and other AMD cards ain't an option

Is there a 4090 model i should avoid? I've heard that it pretty much doesn't matter which model u get for other graphics but 4090 is on another level so i don't wanna waste that money. Gigabyte gaming oc is in the few cheapest am i good with it or should i opt for the more expensive model, if so which one?

Hi, I would like to train my own CNN and LLM for fun, but my single RTX 3090 is never enough. I came up with Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit (the one with 64gb of memory), probably this is something I can use to train and play. What do you think about it?

Is there a chance we can stack two of them? That is, to connect one to the PCI Express of the other.

Hello y'all, I posted this a few days ago, but I think I posted at a bad time late at night and few people probably saw it, I got no responses.

When Chat with RTX first released, I installed it with no issues, had some fun with it, and then didn't touch it for a while. With the new release of the Nvidia app, I saw it offered installation of an updated verision, and tried to install it, but it fails every time. My error is the same as described in this forum post: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/installation-issues-with-chat-with-rtx/282782

TLDR: It shows "Chat with RTX" as "Failed" in the install window, and the two language models as "not installed." I have an RTX 4070 Super.

The solutions mentioned in that post do not work. At first, I installed to the default location. My user folder does not have any spaces, although the default install location does, since it installs to "Nvidia Corporation" in Program Files (x86). I tried creating a new folder on my C: drive named "ChatWithRTX" and installing there so there's no spaces, but that did not work either. It always downloads about 10GB of data and then fails.

I tried clearing out all the folders from my initial install of the 0.1 version, but that didn't work either.

Has anyone managed to get it to install from the Nvidia App after previously installing the stand-alone version?
