My biggest question to FUTO/Immich is if they're worried about a revenue stream, why not do something similar to Home Assistant? You never have to pay HASS a dime and never see anything to "shame" you. All you get is essentially a forwarding subdomain with some "easier" ways of doing cloud related things. There's zero "shaming" or calls to pay. I pay HASS/Nabu Casa monthly cause I'm lazy and it makes my life easier. FUTO should consider doing something similar.

Yes. Yes I have. It's why I state 48kHz or higher due to the halving effect. 44.1kHz will only get you to 22kHz and 18Hz. Not a whole different than what ours can hear. 44.1kHz was the standard for CDs due to size limitations but we're well beyond that now.
A pure analog recording can be superior to digital recordings. But those are so rare these days, we don't have a good comparison.
There's things like "bass bleed" and cross talk that made analog so interesting to listen to.
As long as the original recording is 48kHz or higher, digital recordings are awesome. We might not be able to hear beyond the 20Hz - 20kHz, you can most certainly feel it. Especially in the lower end.
What server are you using for $15/year? That's amazing.
100% agree. Around for that time too. It's why I wonder what it could've become.
Ain't nothing wrong with posting mundane pictures. I mean, look at PixelFed. Same shit happening but no horrible ads, no crappy algo, nobody trying to sell you shit. Just people posting pics.
Not to defend Instagram cause fuck Meta. I'm curious how it would've turned out if Meta didn't buy them way back. Same with WhatsApp. Could they have been great apps now a days instead of deserving of our scourn?
The iMessage lock-in is too real for some of us. I know some iPhone users who won't even install FB Messenger (I know, I don't use it either. Fuck the Zuck) because it's not Apple/iMessage. I finally got my family on Signal and "OMG! We can send videos and pictures now!" Yeah, been saying it for years lol.
WiFi and ZigBee can interfere with each other as well since they both run on 2.4GHz and pending on what channel you're on, will royally screw with the other. Moved (nearly) all my Smart Home devices to Z-Wave and has had better connection to nearly everything.
Got myself a Logitech G502X and the Powerplay charging mouse pad. Now I can have my wireless mouse charged 24/7 and never have I think about plugging it or docking it.
My SO and I recently found out that Walmart (I see the Great Value brand) has actually become one of the more expensive places to buy goods from. We've done comparisons from Trader Joe's, Fry's, and Safeway. We've found that Walmart is the least value. Take what you will.
IIRC mines wouldn't be triggered if it was yours and you interacted with them in some way. But because the way Goldeneye handled objects like the ammo crate, anything that was considered "a part of it", such as the mine, disappeared so a new one could spawn. The overall game code knew the mine was still there so if another player grabbed the ammo crate, thus interacted with the mine, it would detonate and kill the other player.
Hope that explains it.
