XMPP is the internet standard anyways, not sure why Matrix is necessary. Hopefully they become standard compliant soon. Venture capital startups reinventing internet standards in incompatible and inefficient ways is not helping.

@papalonian @possiblylinux127 They say the internet never forgets, but still... An overwhelming percentage of content on the internet will be lost to time, because websites die constantly and most things aren't archived. It's also yet to be seen if archive sites like archive.org survive or not.

@ninjan @mod_pp Globally offline? In the US and maybe in some countries that don't have a stable currency on their own. Anywhere else you can't use it.
