I've kind of been bouncing off a few things this week. I'm playing through Freedom Planet for the first time and loving it (I've already bought the sequel in preparation), chipping away at Brotato, playing a bit of N++, and doing a few runs in Darkest Dungeon 2. I finished Super Mario Wonder after bouncing off it when it originally came out, and now I'm just trying to cram anything into the hole.

I felt like Links Awakening was a good difficulty to be honest. I enjoyed those old school style puzzles from the GB era.

Aren't hedgehogs nocturnal though?

I don't use Google search or Chrome but I own a Pixel. Life's funny like that.

That god damn kitchen scene.

It was actually unbelievable timing! I saw the memes this morning and thought oh that Kevin guy must be a bigger part of TOS than I expected.

I literally watched this episode for the first time last night

IT by Stephen King was read incredibly by Steven Weber.

Stephen King got me into Audiobooks after being a bit hit-and-miss with them but I've been using them when I'm out walking and then read the book when I'm home and have time. It's been a great way to zoom through his back catalogue.

They may have invented them but Japan perfected them.

Japan has ruined toilets for me.

That's okay, I love Twilight Zone so I don't think it'll be too bad.

Why's that and how did watching the movies but not having seen the original series effect them?

I've been watching the Next Generation for a while but on my dad's recommendation I started SNW and I love it. I'm getting through it really quickly and thought about jumping straight to TOS after.

Is it going to be really jarring or do the two sync quite nicely? Do the characters feel a bit flat after all the exploration they get in SNW?

Lovely work!

It always fails and saves as a draft for me.

This is the error I get every time.

Movies and TV shows I mean.

When I first started using Lemmy it seemed like such a nice place with interesting discussions. It seemed like the first group of people to join after the app exodus were being quite careful to be respectful of the existing culture.

Now, it seems as though the culture from Reddit has completely replaced it. Toxicity and all. I will say I do follow a lot of communities from a wide range of instances so it's clearly not everywhere.

Am I the only one who's feeling like we've just stormed in and bulldozed Lemmy?

[[No spoilers if possible as I'm reading it currently. I'm up to Jake's time in Derry now.]]

It seems to me that Al basically said "Jake, here's a weird time hole. Do you want to save JFK because insert random musings and Jake just went "Fuck it, why not?"

Like, is it ever adequately explained? Taking a risk that things would be better if they prevented the assassination attempt seems like lunacy.

I'm not saying I dislike it but I'm finding it hard to get through and it's incredibly short. I enjoyed the first chapter in Tull and I enjoyed the desert scenes but since then I've been finding it hard to focus on. I like the characters too but it just feels a bit... Boring in places?

Is the entire series like this?

Edit: I've now finished it and I'm reading 11.23.66 but not sure if I should read The Drawing Of The Three after.

I know we're not federated with lemmygrad but hexbear seems more leftist in general rather than pure tankie/ML. They'll also be the biggest (or second biggest?) instance when they start federating.

What are the general thoughts on it? I personally wouldn't mind and browse hexbear every now and then already so I might be biased. I think there's a fair amount of likeminded people there though.
