It’s similar to women who can’t leave their violent companion: they want to believe in something that does not exist, and will stretch their perception of reality to avoid admitting they’re wrong.

This analysis really fucking sucks lmao. Abuse also includes controlling access to structures of dependency (housing, food, money, social webs, children), so a lot of time in the immediate term and often long term it is a MUCH better value proposition to stay with abusers in the hope that they change.

Idk this is so victim blamey and misunderstanding.

Most people don't have time to fritter on new tech, alt clients, etc. Honestly they're not stupid and I resent the implication--Reddit's just predatory. If we want an alternative to flourish, we gotta stop treating it like its a "smart people club" and being elitist about it

the most sustainable smartphone is the one that you already have

In the migration to lemmy, this community's admins have the chance to drop its startlingly racist name. Wasn't funny back then, and it's still not funny.

Why keep the nazi memorabilia around?

I'm just looking for write protect and (less hopefully) song mode on my model:cycles — does Elektron tend to update their boxes with new features after release?

i only say this because i don't think it's well documented, members only seem to get 1 invite per week iirc, so this is likely a big ask. good luck getting on there. OP!

They've got this in Amsterdam but I would say it's less accessible than bars/alcohol generally due to how polluted the air gets (despite the best efforts of filtration)

Idk, customized accents and images/identity is an accessibility thing for a lot of people, helps them have a sense of being where they're intending to be & not lost in the content soup, which I do think a lot of decentralized projects do fall a little flat. It's a tough line to toe!

(edit: i think i maybe misunderstood some here, but imo lemmy's ui could use a little more clarity and polish, but ultimately like its lighter load visually)
