pretty sure this started happening with lemmy 0.18.4, because there was a fix for comment loading on the lemmy side included in 0.18.4.
4th gen is very old, so windows being really bloated and inefficient probably cut support for it.
Try linux if you are interested. The day to day performance is actually really good (except gaming ofc)
it's not going to stop unless you have a good replacement
it works on my kde neon by default

things like lowercase i and not having periods contribute to that vibe as well
