It's not my fault! The bigger boys tricked me!

I got the Oasis/roll with it bit (probably because I'm old), but I had to look up what oasis soup was.

OASIS (Oldways Africana Soup In Stories) is a celebratory anthology of culturally-informed soup recipes that seeks to foster and expand conversation about nutritional knowledge and Black women’s wellness.

Edit: Though the book may have been based on the original joke, come to think of it...

Not sure I'd categorise us as a civilised country at the moment, but in the UK it's a full week before your employer can ask for a note: https://www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave

Huh - I assumed they were the same thing.
I wonder if it never aired in the UK...

Cosby predates One Foot in the Grave - I remember watching Cosby as a kid in the 80s, and OFitG didn't show up until the 90s. OFitG became (I think) Curb Your Enthusiam.

I've been working in Primary School IT for the past 20 years - I can guarantee that IT (if they were asked at all) told the school how many PCs would fit, and were ignored because they 'need enough for a full class!'

It's infuriating.

'Hmmm - what can I bring in return? No cool shiny things around here- ooh! Gizzard stones! They're useful! Hope this one's big enough 'cause they're much bigger than I am!'

"The devil told you that! the devil told you that!" cried the little man, and in his anger he stamped with his right foot so hard that it went into the ground above his knee; then he seized his left foot with both his hands in such a fury that he split in two, and there was an end of him.

If I look 10 feet to my left I can see my Insanity Prawn Boy plushie.

That's certainly one way to climb the corporate ladder...

Anyone remember this XBox ad?

https://youtu.be/Hu_0GdXW904

Apparently it was banned, but I remember seeing it fairly regularly so it must've been around for a while before that happened...

Before he moved to the BBC, Graham Norton had a late 90s/early 2000s show on Channel 4, which (amongst other things) featured random shit off the internet.

I swear, half the weird internet stuff would be prefaced with 'So, Carrie Fisher sent me this email- '.
