No, it's not real. The original source is a satirical news site. Sorry friends.

I generally enjoy a Mario Party game but I barely touched the last one. This seems promising though

Judging where they are and how they present themselves, it looks like they are just trying to be a troll

I'm nowhere near ready to even think about multiplayer, but kudos for the server, hope it gets some activity!

I guess I should have been more specific, I apologize. What is the relation to the word "mander" and the topic of the instance?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Maybe not the perfect place to ask, but under topic specific instances, mander is highlighted. What topic is this?

This is what the Pinterest post is sourcing it from: https://www.darkroastedblend.com/2011/06/american-concept-cars-showcase-part-1.html

Many more pictures inside.

And that's how they get clicks. And now you're talking about it. And me. So it's working

I'd say this is mostly due to budget constraints. Voice acting, music scores, high fidelity art, models, animations etc cost a ton of money. Making random generated boards / levels / dungeons with simple art and scalable gameplay is simply just more feasible.

Another aspect is the popularity of the game. We've seen a lot of saturation in genres over the years. A the peak of PUBG and Fortnite popularity, there were so many battle royale games coming out. Then we got extraction shooters, and so on.

Personally, I love roguelikes and how we got to the point of mixing it with other genres (Balatro, Dungeon Clawler), but I can see your point. I feel the same about 2D (pixel art) platformers: I feel like I've seen it all already and nothing can excite me anymore.
