Like reddit, Lemmy discourages long lived threads, which is unfortunate.
luckily we have the ability to sort posts by "New Comments" just like old school forums do
(preferably using one tap sign in with their Facebook/Google/whatever account).
Kbin can actually do this, so no reason why Lemmy couldn't

They seem to be taking it seriously, even considering making a hotfix for it despite v0.19.0 coming soon
edit: and now they've tagged a release candidate for 0.18.5 with this fix in it

what would be even cooler is if it automatically subscribed you to communities based on the answers you gave
or at least listed them out? I think Lemmy will soon have an option to import a list of communities to subscribe to all at once
