yea normally this isn't an issue cause you post from the community's page so it's selected by default, but this is a real problem when crossposting

remember RTX Remix only works for fixed function graphics, so games like Doom 3 with programmable shaders will not work in RTX Remix

Half-Life 2 was mainly programmable shaders, but it had an option for fixed function graphics for older computers, which is how it works in RTX Remix

Yes, through some legal magic they're the only site to sell the older (best) version of Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition. I had never used them before buying that but they gave me 0 issues, everything worked perfectly and it was DRM free, with lots of bonus content too.

Yes frame gen could theoretically bring a 30fps locked game up to generated 60fps. But most of these older games won't have the data required by frame gen (per pixel motion vectors), or even if they do have that data it can still be a lot of work for modders to add frame gen support.

AMD has a driver level version of frame generation that doesn't require the game engine to provide motion vectors, but it's much simpler and similar to TVs that have motion interpolation.

He could also blow out a candle from several yards away.

How the fuck? With his anus...? Several yards away sounds like quite a distance, I'm not sure I could blow out a candle that far away with my mouth lol

Scaled: Like hot, but gives a boost to less active communities

randomly found this post, but this is exactly what I do with https://lemmy.mods4ever.com/

only my admin user is on there and it isn't subscribed to any remote communities, Lemmy is barely using any resources on my server it's basically free

I've actually thought about running 2 separate instances like lemmyusers.mods4ever.com and lemmycommunities.mods4ever.com or something like that

Honestly too many things to list. When it's finished the devs will post the changelog. But the scaled sort option is a popular addition, remote follow is cool, giving users the ability to block instances, and a bunch of fixes too.

There's been some posts about a few of the updates, but a complete changelog won't be until the release happens, which should be this year?

Just wait until v0.19.0, gonna be such a good update

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think the v0.19.0 backend already fixes this, so no need to duplicate that effort in the frontends

I would replace the 2nd comma with a colon

No, Okta: senior management, not an errant employee, caused you to get hacked

Well why don't we do that then? What should it be called?

For discussion about The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour, The 13th Doll, Clandestiny, Tender Loving Care, and more! We also have lots of crossover with fans of Phantasmagoria, Shivers, Harvester, Myst, and more!

We also have Stream Detective set up in there if you want to elect to receive notifications of people playing these games on Twitch

starting at 6:51 is when he talks about the Randomizer

What is the instance for?

It's a collection of communities about our projects, which happen to be mostly randomizers! And also a community for The 7th Guest series because I made a bunch of contributions to ScummVM for these games and I love them.

What communities do you have?

[email protected] for Deus Ex Randomizer

[email protected] Build Engine Randomizer, this works for Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood, or Ion Fury

[email protected] RollerCoaster Tycoon Randomizer, use with OpenRCT2

[email protected] StarCraft 2 Balance Patch Randomizer, this is for multiplayer and it's like generating a new balance patch for every game!

[email protected] Unreal Randomizer

[email protected] Duke Nukem Forever (2001) Restoration Project Randomizer

[email protected] Unreal Tournament (1999) Crowd Control and Randomizer

[email protected] Stream Detective is a bot to alert when streams start on Twitch, you can have it search by game, title, and tags (we use this to alert us about new streams of people playing our mods, currently for Discord and Mastodon)

All of the above projects are open source on GitHub

And [email protected] for discussion about The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour, The 13th Doll, The 7th Guest VR, the board game, Clandestiny, Tender Loving Care, Uncle Henry's Playhouse, and more! I have made many contributions to Groovie engine in ScummVM which powers some of these games, definitely check them out for all your old adventure game needs.

Or https://lemmy.mods4ever.com/communities

Copy the link to a community from there, and paste it into your home instance's search bar. (Note that searches won't work if you aren't logged in). For Mastodon or Kbin replace the ! with an @ sign and put it in your search bar.

Why don't you allow signups?

In order to keep my server costs reasonable, I only want this to host the communities, not the users. Hosting users adds significant demands for federating remote posts/comments, and hosting the images that users are posting. See below to make an account on a different instance and you will still be able to interact with all our communities!

How do I use Lemmy?

  • Make an account

    • Make a Lemmy account, I would suggest doing it on https://lemm.ee/post/23729707

      • Any server/instance will be able to interact with our communities, and you only need one account, you can use your home instance to access content from other instances.

  • Subscribe to communities

    • Copy the link to a community like https://lemmy.mods4ever.com/c/deus_ex_randomizer or copy the full name of the community like [email protected]

    • Then paste it into your own instance’s search bar. (Note that searches won’t work if you aren’t logged in, and it may take 10 seconds for the remote search to finish)

    • Click the community and click Subscribe in the sidebar
