Richard Nixon tried to nuke North Korea because he was drunker than a skunk and Kissinger had to tell the joint chiefs of staff to ignore him.

https://www.businessinsider.com/drunk-richard-nixon-nuke-north-korea-2017-1

It’s not trans people we need to worry about. It’s putting mentally weak and fragile men in charge of things.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Not nuking North Korea was probably the right choice. On the other hand, I'd rather get vaporized in a nuclear fireball than starve to death in a reeducation camp for not clapping hard enough when [Great/Supreme/Dear] Leader farts.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'd rather get nuked than show up to work Monday, but that's not really my call.

“There are 150 ICBM missiles that are being controlled by that Air Force base and by these individuals.”

“I do not want someone who doesn’t know if they are a man or a woman with their hand on a missile button.”

His “argument” is that trans people are inherently unstable because they are trans (really, questioning, but that distinction doesn’t matter to him).

This is what queer people are dealing with: the constant pathologizing of our very existence to the point where we’re viewed as a threat. This is why I can never accept people who continue to vote for these dangerous assholes: they either benefit from or are indifferent to the suffering this rhetoric engenders. It’s not a difference in opinion and deserves no such protection.

Well as we know, all cishet people know exactly who they are at any given time, and their personality, philosophy, epistemology, and tastes never cha—oh wait...

Must suck for him being so boring and predictable all the time, that he has to invent reasons to get all hot and bothered.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

If we had to wait for only the eternally ethically pure, completely content and self-actualized people to be the ones to man the silos, we’d be waiting a longass time, because those people don’t join the military.

But we all know it’s just shitting on a minority in order to drum up a new scapegoat after gays finally became boring.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

It sounds very much like how women were ‘dismissed’ from essential roles in society because they were ‘fragile’, ‘overly emotional’, ‘suffer from hysteria’.

This all sounds like a repeat, we’ve been here before.

Only difference is that with lgbtiqa+ the very existence is denied to them.

[–] [email protected] 68 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Does that mean it's now the LGBTQICBM community?

i sexually identify as nuclear armageddon. my pronouns are Minuteman III/Trident II

[–] [email protected] 57 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Cis people have launched more missiles at people in general. Better ban any sort of similar treatments for cis military members too.

I remember when they said letting women in the military would do exactly the same thing. They don't even make new arguements anymore.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

It's been the same argument for 150 years, they just keep repositioning their sights.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I sure the trans community just wants to be treated fairy, and be able to pee in the restroom they are comfortable with. This guy is a hateful fearmonger.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm sure the trans community just wants to be treated fairy

Hilariously inappropriate typo :)

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

Damn the typos! LOL

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I would be more scared that a right wing white supremacist would launch nukes at everyone. Their existence is about hatred of others. Trans people’s existence is about trying to love themselves. I’m not scared of trans people, if you are then please ask yourself why you are. Are you afraid they would retaliate for how you treat them?

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 year ago (3 children)

So could non-trans soldiers. The problem isn't trans, it is (ICBM) arms control. Or transphobia.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Por que no los dos?

(That is, the problem is both arms control and transphobia)

Every accusation is a confession with conservatives.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 year ago (4 children)

This should be a career ending statement, it's fallacious and trying to incite hate against the Trans community! However, I have a feeling this fool who speaks out of pocket garbage will get more votes than a saner candidate. 😬

It's a transpocalypse. I have become Blahaj, destroyer of gendered bathrooms.

The congresspukes who bitch the loudest about the military are cowards who never set foot in a MEPS station themselves.

I'm not saying that you have to have served to have a valid opinion, but I am saying that this guy is talking out his ass.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well I say conservatives shouldn't be in the military because they aren't sure if they are America or Russian and could launch missiles on everyone.

Man has trusted millitary personnel with ICBM missiles for years.

Moment there's a possibility they could be trans, becomes fearful they could do something that they were already capable (or incapable) or doing.

Sounds like a "you" problem to me.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So were the crew of the Enola Gay all trans?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Yes, and I can prove it:

Enola

GAY

See, it's in the name!!

/s in case you need it.

Nuclear strikes ordered by cisgendered people: 2

Nuclear strikes ordered by transgendered people: 0

Also, if you want the Democrats to keep the Senate, you should be rooting for Matt Rosendale to make as loud of an asshole of himself as possible, because him getting the Republican nomination would be a huge boost to Jon Tester, and the more stunts he pulls like this, the better his chances.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So if only trans people can launch the missiles, it seems like he should be pushing for more trans people in the miltary.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Not many people know this, but the original controls for the nuclear arsenal was written using obscure and nuanced language only trans people could understand. It was like the Navajo code talkers

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

thank god i got out of montana. this is ridiculous.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Projecting again, hes thinking about the white supremacists in the military he knows which threaten to nuke leftists, and assuming left wing people are as shitty as he is - as usual.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm not entirely sure if I have no clue what trans people really really want or this guy, but I'm willing to bet my money on "this guy".

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago
[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

I'm old enough to remember "Do you really want PMSing women in the military?" and this has some of the same energy.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

ICBS is more like it. And this guy's got plenty to spare.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

It's okay, those ICBM missiles are protected against unauthorized launch by a PIN number just like an ATM machine.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Projection.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

He's nuts.

Ofc no sane trans person would wish to ICBM on non-targets, duh!

Not that people like this guy would ever actually hear this, but I love this bit from the article

Despite the stereotype that trans and nonbinary people don’t know what gender they are, they usually have put more thought into their gender identities than cisgender people have and have explored that aspect of themselves to a greater degree. Many transgender people know they are men or women with as much or even more certainty than many cisgender people, and nonbinary people don’t have the problem of knowing “if” they’re men or women because they can be just as certain that they are neither.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Only makes sense if you think gender and biological sex are different things.

Huge trans phallic shaped objects, falling out of the sky and hitting everyone!

If I were to describe Rep. Matt Rosendale of the 2nd District of Montana in an image it would be ....
