Both of these people suck. But downvoting because the article doesn’t really feel like political news? Seems very sensationalized.

So happy to see some more toys in this space, it’s really pretty limited and there are some cool toys that can appeal to all kinds of kids.

Oh wow, that’s scary. I’m semi-rural too, thankfully I don’t hear much about accidents or incidents in roundabouts at least locally. I’m curious about areas where there are pedestrians and bikes that cross roundabouts too… where I’m at they are farther away from walkable/bikeable territory so it’s really just cars using them.

I’m going to assume positive intent and not the hostile tone “knock it off” reads like to me.

True… roundabouts took some time but are pretty prevalent now in my region and people have gotten used to them. I don’t think the US shouldn’t try things, just pointing out a difference in culture and attitude towards cars & bikes in the US compared to Dutch. I also don’t think a college town is the right place to test something like this, maybe I’m wrong and discounting younger drivers too heavily.

I trust the Dutch with this design, bikes are treated as priority with a lot of respect. Not the same in the US… and in this test, I especially wouldn’t trust college town kids and local drivers who asked for (and got) additional parking on the same street.

TIL that NBC has a sequel.

Also this bit helps understand a bit more why these requests are missing. Counties are simply following a very shitty new Desantis law.

However, a new law signed by Governor Ron DeSantis requires counties to purge requests before every general election.

Not that people like this guy would ever actually hear this, but I love this bit from the article

Despite the stereotype that trans and nonbinary people don’t know what gender they are, they usually have put more thought into their gender identities than cisgender people have and have explored that aspect of themselves to a greater degree. Many transgender people know they are men or women with as much or even more certainty than many cisgender people, and nonbinary people don’t have the problem of knowing “if” they’re men or women because they can be just as certain that they are neither.

I love the world vibe and tricolor, although the turf war grind is pretty boring and I miss ranked modes. Probably not a hot take.
