KU offense with a competent defense is scary fellas

KU has always been scary, fellas. No, don't ask me why I think that...
I’m kinda digging the “blackhawk” uniforms
I like matte black helmets, and anything with those ridiculously big beaks on it
They look clean as hell!
What a coincidence -- I was just about to post a comment about how I'm not fond of these. Blackout unis work for some teams, but KU's colors are so bright it doesn't feel right to me
I get the feeling the Big 12 is gonna be a blood bath this year.
Big 12 is usually a blood bath. Haven't the past 3 conference championship games featured 6 different teams?
I think the PAC and ACC are even bigger free-for-alls this year. Those conferences look really deep.
Illinois was the #1 defense last year and Daniels just scored on them in 40 seconds
Whenever I am forced to sit through ads, I like to loudly say into the speaker of my smartphone "I am substantially less inclined to purchase product"
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working...
Dang, Illinois can straight up march down the field.
Really good drive there, although jump passes in the red zone always make me a little nervous since I've seen them picked off way too many times. Good for Illinois that one paid off
OK, maybe it was too good of a drive. They left too much time on the clock and now KU effectively steals touchdown before half...
I kind of expected this to be evenly matched through the first half, but so far (end of the first) it's all been Kansas. Let's see if Illinois comes back later in the game. It's hard to count out Bret (unless he's coaching at Arkansas...)
Good game KU. Good adjustments by Illinois in the second half, even if I didn’t agree with any of the calls in the second half. Rank KU Cowards!
Refs put money down on illinois
Dude. KU in this 4th quarter is killin me.
Only thing I like more than a good punt downing inside the 2 is a blocked punt in the endzone...
Edit: well I'm still gonna keep hoping
So Leipold just put both QBs in that play, with both hands up to receive the snap? I'm sure I've seen that before but I can't recall a situation
I'm a day late, but I just got to watch the first half finally that I recorded last night. My thoughts:
- Love the black out uniforms. The "War 'Hawk" is my favorite Jayhawk logo of all time. I'm not sure we would change todays Jayhawk to do something like that if a war broke out now...
- Offense was clicking! Jalen was making plays that Bean just couldn't do. Keeping things alive, and making a little something out of nothing.
- Our wide receivers are getting better. And they made some ridiculous great catches.
- These B1G refs were horrible. And I think one of them is a local guy from Kansas City area.
- Defense looks good. Still a little work to do against the passing game...but they did their job well.
- I hope coach is able to get those targeting calls challenged, and our guys play the first half next week. and lastly...
- I know...We are Kansas, and we have to prove more than just a few games. But man...the play by play and color guy...come on ESPN. Step it up!
Rock Chalk!
I'm sure everyone's tuned out of this one by now (I was just about to myself), so if you missed that awesome Altmeyer 70+ yard rushing TD on 3rd and 18, go watch the highlights. With him in the pocket, he effectively ran for nearly 90 actual yards.
What’s your opinion on the targeting call? Either way, it was a massive hit.
Yeah, that one wasn't clear to me. If I was the ref on the field and had a good look, I imagine it probably looked like targeting live. The replay footage was murky though.
Total screw job
Poop targeting call but you don’t like seeing the QB taking that hit either
