I don't think I'd ~~find~~ make the time to read articles so personally I'd prefer just having the art here (and of course articles can be linked to from the post body - but would probably be overlooked).
Traditional Art
From dabblers to masters, obscure to popular and ancient to futuristic, this is an inclusive community dedicated to showcasing all types of art by all kinds of artists, as long as they're made in a traditional medium
'Traditional' here means 'Physical', as in artworks which are NON-DIGITAL in nature.
What's allowed: Acrylic, Pastel, Encaustic, Gouache, Oil and Watercolor Paintings; Ink Illustrations; Manga Panels; Pencil and Charcoal sketches; Collages; Etchings; Lithographs; Wood Prints; Pottery; Ceramics; Metal, Wire and paper sculptures; Tapestry; weaving; Qulting; Wood carvings, Armor Crafting and more.
What's not allowed: Digital art (anything made with Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, Blender, GIMP or other art programs) or AI art (anything made with Stable Diffusion, Midjourney or other models)
make sure to check the rules stickied to the top of the community before posting.
I’m inclined to agree, but would not argue against having one day a week where it might be permitted.
Edit: To those that might disagree: I believe it is more important to grow the community at this stage rather than focus on purely posting images. If there are those here who wish to read and learn about art, we should accommodate as many as we can. One day a week would accomplish this, IMO.

It is settled then
I'd say that allowing articles would be good
Like articles about artists, art trends, art history type stuff
I would say that they should still be at moderators discretion.
Keep it art focused with good articles. Remove ones that don't bring much for the reader.
I'm all in about learning from whats posted here
Is very happily read art-related articles on here. Given how small the community is, I would have thought you could easily fit articles, reviews, manifestos etc. We're not so overwhelmed with content.
If it starts to become too clogged up, then you split it off into its own community.
Reading through the comments on the video post, someone mentioned a specific day, so maybe do a "Sunday Press" kind of thing.
It look like you're referring to this post https://lemmy.world/post/18129858
I think articles about the art are great. As long as the article is focused on the actual artist or the art piece. I really don't want some dudes life story on "how this painting influced me and blah blah"
It would depend on type of articles. Artwork analysis yes. News about lost and found WWII paintings, not so much.
Techniques and history I am not really sure.
I'm fine with articles, but would prefer them to be informative about process or history. It'd also be nice if any posted article included a piece of art in the thumbnail, so everyone still gets something to look at.
