Yeah because I'm not going to vote for Orange Dipshit doesn't mean Biden lying and breaking promises is somehow valid and cool and good. Blue MAGA is awesome!

"Yes the genocide in Palestine is horrible ~~but at least it's not me~~"

There's always an implied ending to that statement.

I'm convinced that a lot of their willingness to close their eyes to just how atrocious things like the Palestinian genocide and Mexican border camps are is fueled by racism.

White liberals being racist? Shit man, is the pope catholic?

You know what? I'd be okay with that. At least they should be honest about it.

I totally get voting for Biden due to self interest. It sucks. But I get it. Self-preservation and all that.

But don't pretend he's the lesser evil. He's just the evil that benefits you and not someone else.

You'd be ok with white American liberals thinking their lives are more important than those of brown people? I'm not ok with that.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I mean, people are looking out for their own self interest in general. I think that's horrible and it needs addressing.

But it's the hypocrisy that really gets me when it comes to liberals.

Their whole worldview is destroying us and the planet. Hypocrisy is bad, but there are far worse things about liberalism in my opinion.

Remove the hypocrisy, and you have overt fascists. I'd not call that much of an improvement.

I agree with you though that the hypocrisy is also troubling. The hypocrisy is what they use to persuade people that they're on "their side," so to speak. That's why I always make it a point to highlight the fact that they're not our allies. We're only tactically useful to them.

I don't see blue maga, it seems like OOP doesn't like Biden either. All I see is someone pleading for the least bad (and realistic) option in the election.

Some people understand the difference between a shitty situation and complete and total catastrophe

And I'd just like a president who doesn't break promises, protects women's rights, fights against a corrupt court, didn't lock up more Mexicans at the border, raised the minimum wage, protected the EPA, didn't claim COVID is over while people are still dying...

"But that's Congress' job!" And yeah sure it is, but has he ever fucking asked Congress to do these things? Has he been vocal consistently about it like progressives want him to? Nope. He won't be.

When you vote for lesser evil, you get evil.

To expand on this, he's made quite clear that he has no intention of ever ending support for Israel's genocide, and he's straight up bragged about deporting more migrants than Trump while perpetuating the "border crisis" narrative. He's an absolute ghoul and proud of it.

Yeah I am a single issue voter here, and I love when centrists attack me for that single issue being directly enabling a genocide.

"It is your fault we are going to lose" they keey trying to scream over 4000 pound bombs detonating as they punch through the roof of hospitals, schools and homes and deconstruct innocent children and elderly into chunks or maybe just atoms for the big bombs....

If biden wants my my vote he can pick up the phone and call netanyahu and tell him it is over.

If he doesn't there is no sense of there even being any logic to clinging to the status quo.

The Palestinian Genocide In Gaza MUST be understood as a prototype for a new reality where "western" governments begin to openly kill their own citizens with military equipment and the meddia narrative doesn't even pretend to react.

If Biden can get away with this and the prototype is deemed sucessful there is nothing left worth defending. Centrists as always think the best strategy is to bite your lip and accept things as they are, now is not the time for a bold offense, but this is one of those cases where defense becomes less important because we are all going to lose anyways if we dont go on the offense.

You know, if Biden were to (somehow) win in November, it would be interesting to see the "vote blue no matter who" crowd try to explain away Biden (inevitably) doubling-down on his support for Israel's genocide to a far greater degree than he is doing now.

Wishful thinking on my part, I suppose. The liberals will simply do what they always do - go to sleep as soon as they have a lib in the Waffle House and pretend US foreign policy has (magically) changed because of it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

I predict that they would double down on denying Biden's willful role in continuing funding for a genocide and offer some convoluted mental gymnastics for why "he has no choice" but to do so.

I base this prediction on how they responded in 2021 when he extended the wall and opened more concentration camps at the Mexican border. Even then, they were acting like it was justified as long as it was Biden doing it instead of Trump.

Cultlike behavior tbh
