Impeach them and let the legal system do its job: jailtime, fines, what-have-you. Personally, I disapprove of the death penalty in any situation.

For the most part, the left would absolutely have someone executed for treason. The left is loyal to ideals, not people. It wouldn't matter if it were Biden or Trump.
The authoririan left, who might have a problem if it were 'their guy' don't have any loyalty to Biden, because he's not a communist or populist leader.

This right here. If you tell someone on the left that there's credible evidence of a politician committing a crime, they say it should be investigated and prosecuted without asking who it is. On the right, the response completely depends on whether it's their team or not.
That's why folks on the right will stand behind Trump when he keeps highly classified documents with markings and refuses to return them, but will chant "Lock her up!" about Hilary using a private email server that had unmarked classified emails, even though she fully complied with the investigation.
Are you talking about the same 'left' that cried inhumane and illegal when Trump enforced title 42, but crickets with Biden's new immigration policy which is stricter than title 42?
Or the same 'left' that supported Henry Cuellar despite knowing he was under federal investigation?
Voters in both sides will check for that R or D beside their name to see if they will support their actions
Have you not seen all the posts here from liberals complaining about Biden's border policies? How about Huffington post, MSNBC and CBS calling for expelling Cuellar? It's far from liberals lining up behind him.
Fairly far left myself. I agree with the person who said that

To me, one of those ideals is being anti-death penalty. I believe that no matter what the crime is, a government that claims to represent all people, as a democratic government theoretically does, can never justify the killing of one of those people by their hand. Were it up to me, they would be removed from office, prosecuted, tried, convicted, and tossed in jail for the rest of their natural life (which judging by the age demographic of the federal government, wouldn't be too long).
The prospect for an impeachment for treason raises some interesting questions about how the legal and political systems of the United States interact though. Because impeachment is a political process, impeaching a government official doesn't constitute that a crime was committed, and committing a crime doesn't necessarily impose grounds for impeachment. If the Vice President was impeached and removed from office due to committing treason and let's say criminal proceedings were brought, there's no precedent as to whether any of the evidence brought in the impeachment trial or the successful removal would count towards evidence of the treason trial itself. In the most extreme of cases that would likely never happen, a government official could be arrested, tried, convicted, and (under current law that I disagree with) executed without ever being impeached and leaving office.
Also wanted to note that impeachment doesn't just apply to the President, it applies to
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States
Which means federal judges, cabinet officers, etc. Though most notably, no one in Congress
It's not like the US says you HAVE to execute someone convicted of treason, right? Even in death penalty states people get the lesser sentence of life with no chance for parole.
I can see why this is maybe the one crime some people ambivalent about the death penalty would want to keep it as an option for: to make sure the traitors supports don't yank them out of prison and try again.
But if Russia or whomever breaks into a supermax prison to get some spy or politician out, I think the country has worse problems than a traitor on the lose.

(and this is why I shouldn't be in power. Follow the rule of law. let the legal system do it's job. I believe treason is a capital crime... and even the most ardent anti-death-penalty person could make exceptions for the worst humanity has to offer.)

Generally, the left is ant-death penalty so I'd expect something along the lines of life in prison, revoke citizenship, deportation.
