We may have never met, but we have one thing in common. We may be on different continents, but we're together in this: We're not drinking today.

If you want to join us and not drink today you're welcome!

If you have already drunk today, please come back tomorrow, and good luck!

Feel free to share how your day is going, if you have any struggles, when things are going well, thoughts about things you want to change, etc.

Made it 24 hours then had four beers before bed. Gonna try again tomorrow.

:-/

Overall, could be worse, but it honestly needs to get back to zero, ever.

I have a problem. I accept it.

Hopefully four hoppy IPA weren't enough to have me sweating and shaking in the morning. I have a cystoscopy scheduled in 13 hours, which is bad enough without worrying about withdrawals. Not to mention work in 7 hours. At least I get to take 5mg diazepam as prescribed before the procedure, for anxiety and relaxing muscles, but it will have the side effect of helping with withdrawal related symptoms, which should be low with the amount I slowly consumed this evening. I have a lot going on the next few days, and the drinking is worrying me. Got to clean the house more for the daughter's eighth grade graduation ice cream party the next day, got the future wife's daughters (actual niece, her mom died) T-ball game, and before that her other daughters softball practice. That's all after work and a camera down my junk to check and make sure the bladder cancer didn't come back. Oh, and my ex wife is supposed to be coming into town tomorrow (today, it's 1am) for our daughters graduation that's the next day, with her new bf, but might not be able to make it unless I get her 50 bucks for gas. Apparently her bf is having trouble siphoning out enough gas of her shitty old RV to get her mom's shitty old van up here from her off grid property.

So much stress. I'm not religious, but if you are, fucking pray for me bruh.

I wanna get to 48 next run. Hopefully more.

At least I have Saturday off lol

It's good to see you here, and that you've taken the first step. Good luck!

I've taken that first step of admitting I'm addicted to alcohol about 15 years ago, maybe more. I've reset my clock several dozen times over the last decade. My longest stint i can recall 'recently' was four years ago, it was over one year dry. Seven months ago I had three months dry. Three months ago I had two weeks dry. Yesterday's was 24 hours dry.

Today... I reset my timer again.

Will you not drink with me today please? ๐Ÿ™

I'm not drinking with you today.

Do you have any idea what brought you back to drinking after stopping, and if you could do something other than drinking when that happens?

I think stupidity brings me back. Sometimes it's stress, sometimes it's just wanting to enjoy a decent craft beer, sometimes it's just the arrogance of thinking I can have just one to quell the thirst of a craving.

If I could do something else I usually get over it eventually, but I'm a weak man once I give in. One is never enough. I've kept it to beers recently, thank god, but once I start with liquor it's a rough path to find my way out of.

I need to find the light of sobriety again. I'm sick of this version of myself.
