That there is a mental heath crisis is completely correct and it needs to be addressed.

The problem lies not in calling it a mental health crisis, which it is, but in failing to recognise the cause of the crisis (deteriorating living standards and the collapse of middle and working class wealth) That is what this comic is trying to say.

Here I thought it was about the ongoing climate crisis, and general degradation and collapse of the ecosystems around us. We're told it's a mental health issue to be worried about the world around us.

The ironic thing is you're comment about being worried about the economy is kind of on the nose as to how we got here. Everyone's so worried about the economy, and our circumstances withim that economy that, nobody is paying attention to the fact that we're making parts of the planet uninhabitable right now.

Yeah the issue is rhat we are expected to serve the economy above all else. Nothing but stock prices and quarterly growth matters, which has destroyed our social relationships, environment, media, sense of community, and purpose.

Well, it's many things. I just happened to pick the economy because that came to mind first, but the general idea of people being depressed because the ultra-wealthy and large corporations are fucking up the planet is still the same.

Here's limited time access to a meditation app and 3 free counseling sessions at the online only therapist of our choosing.

I mean I don't see why we can't fix the economy and the climate and politics all in one fell swoop.

1% control the wealth, and through that wealth they control politics, and they gained that wealth by exploiting the economy. Repossess everything that was gained through exploitative means and redistribute that to the working class. The politicians no longer get lobbied unless the masses want a program. People now have the wealth and financial security to pursue education. Educated people vote to fix the climate.

Problem solved. Eat the rich. It would be nice if it could be done peacefully, but if not then the working class has to employ more forceful measures. I'm not advocating violence(because that's against TOS), but I am saying that if you truly care about anything around you, then you should fix the one problem causing all of it.

You can't fix one without the other, they're all intrinsically linked. https://wcfia.harvard.edu/publications/centerpiece/fall2018/transcript_jodidi11-5-2018

more specifically the problem is society that places more value on money than human wellness. humans are literally suffering and dying 24/7/365 all over the world as victims and casualties of capitalism.

I went to a checkup recently and one of the mental health questions asked is whether you have a fear of something terrible happening soon. I keep up with the news. Of course I have a fear of something terrible happening soon. I'd be delusional if I didn't.

Are you unable to float through life blissfully unawares? Have you tried just being oblivious to your own and others suffering but just can't do it? You might have MENTAL ILLNESS^tm

Your usefulness and value only comes from the hours you can produce useful work to increase the bourgeois wealth. Everything else is a distraction. Take the correct drugs and get back to work

Hey, they've worked hard to keep everyone just on the brink of their whole lives collapsing if they need to take a sick day.

Exactly, and governments and companies need to acknowledge that privatizing health was a very bad idea to begin with. People deserve the best health support in this "crazy" world.

I'm pretty sure I answered this question wrong because I should have answered it "Constantly"

[–] [email protected] 26 points 6 months ago

this is so good.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago

Yeah losing your world does that

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

Technically not wrong.
