Not a bad idea tbh. It would definitely need to explicitly ban any marketplace sort of discussions (buying/selling/where to find/how to make/grow) otherwise Hexbear would become an immediate target.
commrequest
Community and moderator requests and nominations for unmodded communities.
No bulk requests. That means one comm request per post. This is so we can sort out their interest individually.
Community request posts with enough upbears and a volunteer for moderation willing to submit an application will be created during mod drives.
I am the mentioned commenter. Also available to mod if that's how this works
Ill come talk about how much i love mushrooms. Mushy mushy mushy
i would mod. we would need a lot of mods tho. it would require constant vigilance to keep it legal
It will also need fairly strict rules for allowed/not allowed
If hexbear is going to create a community specifically for drug use, it should also include alcohol/tobacco and all discussion about drugs/alcohol/tobacco should be kept in that one community. The community shouldn’t be anti-drugs in any way but it also shouldn’t be encouraging anyone to shoot ketamine into their eyeballs either. I see what this site does with animal products, maybe you should do that and nsfw it so people have to look for it and not just stumble upon it. Also harm reduction is a terrible name, are you trying to make the leftist equivalent of a 12 step program? Call it drugs. Simple.
That's the plan, comm is up
With a clear and well enforced rule set we are willing to consider this community if you are interested then I will ask you to fill out a short mod questionnaire via hexbear DM or matrix DM.

Element information
Element is a messaging app that lets you talk to people over the Matrix
protocol.
To get started, check out this link, where
you can choose to either download Element for your platform or, if on a
computer, open it in a browser ("Launch Element Web").
The instructions that follow are for the desktop application and the web
application, but the process is similar on all apps:
Press "Create Account"
We host our own Matrix server, so if you want you can change matrix.org to
chapo.chat. This is completely optional; users who sign up with a
matrix.org username can still talk to people with chapo.chat username.
(Note: It is chapo.chat, not hexbear.net. Also, registrations aren't
always open on chapo.chat; if they're not, just create an account on
matrix.org)
Fill in a username and password
Hit register, and you're done!
I'm happy to help mod.
