kssssssshhhhhhhh I have realized that we are all one and we are all one with the plane. The combustion of fossil fuels is no longer necessary and the power of our love will keep our wings aloft.

if hexbear were dying, there would be a straight line at a 45 degree angle intersecting the origin

as plotted, there's a lot more dying than hexbear once the exponential growth takes hold

Is covid-liberalism a bannable offense in c/covid?

I'm getting really fucking weary of seeing sentiments like, "being upset about someone scheduling a non-emergency dental appointment in the middle of the second largest covid wave is deranged" or "you're a selfish asshole for expecting your loved ones to do the bare fucking minimum to protect you" in discussions on masking or vaccine uptake

I know I'm not the only one disappointed in the growing anomie. Maybe we should operate more like c/vegan where everything from omnivore apologia to overt antiveganism (analogous to the above anti-precaution/anti-max/anti-vax-apologia) is forbidden, and posting/commenting as much gets you a ban?

He's lucky to have a girlfriend who's still aware that covid even exists.

Sure, and it's also reasonable to be upset that they won't wear proper n95s and are setting non-emergency dental appointments during expected covid peaks instead of lulls. It's especially reasonable to be upset that they won't get a booster that lowers the likelihood they'll become infectious

Lower Decks was excellent.

So was Prodigy, but treat it like a miniseries or you'll be disappointed at how short it is.

First, im-vegan and I really want to like this paper, but I find it lacking (at least in commentary and discussion if not for their somewhat dubious assumptions):

The word "mask" appears exactly 0 times in the manuscript.

For a study on self-reported behaviors and their link to infection risk, I would think the bare minimum is asking participants at least a few basic questions about their masking behavior. Even if there isn't a standardized survey they could pull from another work's methods section, it should be pretty easy to have respondents report how often they mask when in an enclosed space with people who don't live in their household. Without a reason to discount potential associations between diet and mask-wearing, this seems like a major oversight.

There's no effort to rule out socioeconomic variability as a confounding factor.

Especially early on.

Is she not complicit in Bran's maiming in the first episode (and also early in the first book)?

“Interstate 11 would decimate habitat for cactus ferruginous pygmy owls, who play a vital role in maintaining the health of the Sonoran Desert,” Russ McSpadden, a Southwest conservation advocate at the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a press statement. “These small but fierce birds nest and raise their young in saguaro cacti and other desert trees that would be bulldozed for the highway’s construction. We’re fully committed to protecting these rare owls and their habitat from destruction.”

seared flour tortilla

rice

hemp hearts

homemade salsa (just a blend of random local peppers, an onion, garlic, a roasted tomatillo, lime juice)

chili style multi-bean mixture (this one was a treat because we had a lot of fancy shmancy locally grown beans in the pantry, not just the usual bulk): red beans, black beans, pinto beans, tepary beans, vaquero beans, miso, random peppers, garlic, onions, carrots

cucumber for extra crunch

imitation mozzarella (not miyokos or daiya, but if anybody really wants to know I can check the fridge later)

Tonight I'm making one with chili-bbq fried jackfruit.
