it's fine just wheel them out there and we can feed them the souls of everyone that is still dying from covid

First novel virus outbreak never ended bucko covid-cool

Checks out. My doctor has just stopped sending me the results of my PCR tests. And they now look at me funny when I want one, and just tell me to take the at-home rapid test to see if I've filled up on enough COVID to top off and spill over (IK, IK, just give me my moment of irony, please).

Time will continue to accelerate and collapse until we're all living the same Tuesday afternoon forever.

I can't explain it but Chiefs vs 49ers is a real Hitler vs Hitler vibe

[–] [email protected] 33 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Well it's an American sport so nationalism is baked into it for some reason.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago

Doesn't matter who wins, the Air Force still flies 50 million dollar school bus destroying machines over the squealing hogs.

American caricature of a scary indigenous person vs california ~~gold extractor~~ land destroyer

Somehow they need to throw the Patriots in there for a three-way. I don't really know or care how football works, but I'm sure this can be made to happen. It'd be too perfect a combo.

tbf in January 2020 it wasn't Trump vs. Biden, we all still had hope for Bernie. Also the media was still pushing Pete heavy after Iowa. It wasn't Trump vs Biden until March 2020.

First as tragedy, then... you know, the thing.

Yeah. This is force-choke-1 force-choke-2 erasure. Those were some good months.

I know it was necessary for us to move on from the Bernie moment, and maybe we were too hopeful - Bernie would have been crushed by forces beyond any of us had he actually succeeded, the liberals then declaring "socialism doesn't work" and it'd be another 26 years before the left rose again-but lord I still look back on that period with a certain wistfulness. Call it romantic, utopian, idealist, whatever, they were good months, and honestly the last time I had any hope. Then Bernie fell, and it all fell apart.

That primary and the sabotaged pandemic policies combined cracked my lib programming irretrievably, and I was reading Lenin for the first time when the uprising in Minneapolis broke out

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Those candidates are going to be in that election. Again. And again. Forever. Both with the gene-deep certainty that they are more than a biological puppet. A dream that they had inside a locked room. The dream that they represent an electorate.

sucks to be on the endemic end of permanent pandemization.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

Technically, endemic means that a virus has achieved predictable seasonal patterns. Covid waves continue to be governed by the rapid, random evolution of new dominant strains. Officials and their stenographers are wishcasting when they say "endemic".

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

What's wrong with pandas? I wish they were endemic here...

I'm excited about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and nothing you say will make me not feel that way.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Remake is amazing and deserves more attention

[–] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I would pay more attention if Cloud wasn't so ugly and weird looking.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Why look at Cloud, when you can look at the perfect man, Barret?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I want to but I just can't, not with Cloud standing there, menacingly

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

Actually his name is Bullet

[–] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The name made it kinda hard to sell, but Final Fantasy 7 Remake* (*but kinda also a sequel/reinterpretation thing like the Utena movie) doesn't quite roll off the tongue lol

[–] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

it was the perfect time to bust out a fraction "Final Fantasy Remake 2/7ths"

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

oh no it's kingdom hearts

[–] [email protected] 14 points 9 months ago

Same. Remake was really good, more than good enough for a full price title.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 9 months ago (1 children)

What if I said that Squeenix's CEO is still really into NFTs?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

I'm still in line waiting to vote for Bernie at the South Carolina Democratic primary. They can't refuse you if you showed up before the polls closed, and I've been camped out here to make sure my vote counts. Others are here too, my hope is that we'll get the SC primary to swing toward Bernie so people still waiting in line in Super Tuesday states are more likely to vote for Bernie on the momentum. It's never too late, and you're just a doomer if you really think Bernie has no chance.
