I mean, imagine the price of the combat boots you'd have to put on those fuckers.

Apparently the Boeing whistleblower made a statement to the effect that if he were to die, it would not be a suicide.

This is honestly some next-level brainworms:

An Israeli woman taken captive by Palestinian fighters on 7 October 2023 is grateful to the helicopter pilot who shot at the vehicle she was riding in, killing another Israeli as well as all of their abductors....

When the gunfire ceased, Goren realized that the helicopter’s high-caliber bullets had killed all of her abductors, as well as one Israeli woman....

At least one survivor of the same Israeli helicopter attack that killed Nir Oz resident Efrat Katz has blasted Israel’s repeated readiness to sacrifice the lives of its citizens....

Cunio’s anger over Israel’s repeated implementation of the Hannibal directive is not shared by Goren, however, who was taken to Gaza on the same tuk tuk – a small motorized utility vehicle.

Asked what words she has for the helicopter pilot that sprayed them with gunfire, Goren replied with appreciation – and regret that he did not resume his fire at the second group of Palestinians that carried them off to Gaza.

“Thank you – and why didn’t you stay?” Goren told Channel 12. “Also, why weren’t you there, here, to take down everyone here? If one helicopter had fired, everything would be okay. We would never have gotten to Gaza.”

Goren’s appreciation is all the more striking since she appears to understand that she could have been killed just like Efrat Katz if the helicopter had returned.

“I was also trying to hide, to get inside as much as possible,” Goren explains to Ilana Dayan as they watch footage of the second vehicle laden with people that would eventually make it to Gaza. “At that moment my fear was if the helicopter shot at us again. And this time my back is exposed. If he shoots again, it’s me who dies.”

If you watch the video the article links to, she even describes how the Hamas "terrorists" who captured her went out of their way to get her a cigarette in the middle of the operation. And made sure she put on better clothes than she had on while sleeping.

What the absolute FUCK?! Thank you for nearly murdering me, but I wish you'd finished the job! (They also would have finished the job if the helicopter hadn't run out of ammo; her reaction: "If only their ammunition hadn't run out.")

TIL the U.S. did a successful coup against Australia when it threatened to shut down its big spy base decades ago. I guess Oz really learned it lesson.

A lot of the even progressive or nominally leftist streamers, podcasters, and other talking heads who are covering the lies about sexual violence on Oct 7 always include disclaimers like, "I'm not saying no sexual violence occurred, in fact I find it very likely it did, but no evidence has been produced...."

Find it very likely why? Because it was Palestinians? Because some of them were Hamas? Because any incident of mass violence is likely to include sexual violence? Because they were overwhelmingly young men? Because Israel said so? What? It strikes me as still buying heavily into "gotta condemn Hamas, no matter what" bullshit. Or am I missing something, other than the obvious racism?

Aaron Bushnell may have been reacting to mandatory deployment orders to Gaza. When liberals come at you with the blah, blah, blah, radicalized, blah, blah, blah, mental illness, blah, blah, blah you can throw in their faces that he was about to be forced to go conduct the genocide (even if this isn't necessary for his act to be heroic).

Fucker Tarlson, jesus christ. In his introductory summary he said he had thought Putin was afraid of NATO expansion, but that Putin said the issue was that he had "historical claims to parts of Ukraine". But in the actual interview, Putin laid out exactly the security issues, the CIA-backed Maidan coup, the failure to implement the Minsk agreements, the build-up of the war since 2014, etc. Carlson straight up lied in his intro. Did he think people wouldn't watch the rest of the video? And, like, why the fuck is he suddenly repeating Democrats' propaganda about it? What a fucking jackass.

Funny. At one point Putin says he knows Tucker tried to join the CIA and they rejected him. And seems to imply they rejected him because "they are a serious organization". LMFAO.

The current reddit-logo crypto-fascist, blue-MAGA tactic is to "worry that Trump might do genocide even worse than Biden". Love takin' muh hypothetical as an excuse to support the genocide which is unfolding before muh very eyes. So fuckin' classy!

My fucking god Chomsky has become so donkey-brained these days. Watched a video in which he says Democrats (as in the party, not voters) have soured on Israel, and that it's all Republicans who support it now. Meanwhile, the fascist you obsessed on telling people to vote for in swing states because lesser-evil is actually perpetuating the genocide as we speak, Noam, and even bypassing Congress to do it. Fucking hell.

disgost

My own summary and interpretation of Israel's arguments to the ICJ:

  1. Israelis are the real victims of genocide in this conflict, as is literally the only possible relation between genocide and Israel/Jews. I mean, we own the term after all. Source: Holocaust (duh!).
  2. There is no "dispute" between Israel and South Africa that the court can rule over, because that would require that we engage with them. We decided to instead use the get-out-of-jail-free-card of just ignoring them and continuing our genocide. Us doing genocide obviously doesn't mean we oppose South Africa's view that we should stop doing genocide. Therefore you can't do anything. Nah, nah, sorry!
  3. Pffffft! "Random quotes" of people like the Israeli Prime Minister, Secretary of Defense, and Knesset members mean nothing. Our highest authorities could literally say explicitly, "We intend to commit genocide and we are currently doing so," and have every IDF troop repeat this after them, and it doesn't matter because it's not "policy". (Also, freeze-peach )
  4. But KHamas/Hamas!!!! (Surprisingly, one or two of them actually pronounces it correctly.) Literally in every home and hospital, in every humanitarian zone and aid vehicle, and embedded in every facility of civilian infrastructure!
  5. We provide all the food, water, medicine, fuel, etc. that Gazans could possibly want, so they must just be refusing to eat. We're good daddies, but what'cha gonna do if the kids just won't eat?!
  6. How dare you imply we can't do as much war as we like under whatever conditions we like! If we can't blow people up, we'll literally all die. We are the Allies in WW2, Hamas are the Axis, and South Africa is some neutral third-party trying to get us to surrender to the Nazis and let them do their thing!
  7. Our ethnic cleansing is actually an anti-genocide measure!

TBH I can see the court doing the "procedural"/"technicality" thing and cowardly deciding that South Africa didn't jump through all the hoops necessary to bring the case (#2). Then they can just shrug and hold up their hands and go "doesn't really matter if they're really doing a genocide, sorry." It would be completely in line with how systemic racism generally pervades elite, liberal systems of injustice. Legalism is so fucking awesome!

Some extra thoughts:

  • Israel literally claimed to find a pistol in an incubator.
  • I wonder if their plan is to capture Hamas fighters and tie them to the nose cones of their missiles. Then there'd literally be Hamas anywhere they choose to strike! It's like the offensive equivalent of "human shields".
  • God, several of these people still wear the silly wigs along with all the ridiculous robes. I vote we start taking these stodgy idiots seriously no sooner than when they start dressing like normal people.
