My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell said the network has canceled its advertising deals with the company amid his ongoing legal and financial troubles

Fox News appears to have cut ties with the conservative bedding brand My Pillow, once one of the network’s largest and most prominent advertisers.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Rolling Stone that the network’s partnership My Pillow “was paused due to the fact Mike Lindell hasn’t been able to finance the commercials and this was communicated to his media agency at length.”

.... so he can't pay the bills?

GOOD.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, but he’s gonna lie and say he got canceled. Might be able to gin up some viral outrage with the MAGAs to sling a few more lumpy pillows.

Pretty sure the gin would cost more than his shitty pillow’s profit margins. Probably why the company is running out of business.

There's zero chance he will end up homeless but I really want him to experience this again.

Oh, they didn't stop because he's an insurrectionist who wants to overthrow democracy, but because he can't pay his bills. "Kicked out" implies a moral stand, but he's just broke.

They dropped his broke ass because he can't pay for his commercials.

I can't imagine a possible world where Fox has any place in an infinite universe to stand morally.

Lindell says he’s canceled, but it looks like he’s just too broke to buy ads. Par for the course for this con man. He’s a loser who pretends to be a victim. He’s hoping he can sell shitty pillows with manufactured outrage.

Here’s the important bits:

“I’m bringing some disturbing news,” Lindell told Bannon. “As you know Steve, ever since I was speaking out about our election platforms since January of ‘21, they’ve been attacking my company My Pillow with cancel culture … [and now] Fox News just canceled My Pillow.”

What makes these griftlords so incapable of admitting to their own failures?

I cannot imagine that he believes what he's saying, and just saying it for convenience.

"Conservative bedding brand" lol.

Another guy that should be in prison instead of out bothering us.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 10 months ago

The title of this article makes it sound like it's being said by the my pillow guy

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago

Sucks to suck, enjoy your crack pipe traitor.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago

It turns out you have to pay people for advertising.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

A good wordplay in the title is a little ruined by capitalizing every word, losing the brand name capitalization for those out of the loop. This trick of magazines and youtubers is dumb.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Because modern media deliberately caters to dumb, gullible, easily angered people.

They craft it this way on purpose, just like email scammers.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

No argument here.

It Shows Pure Excitement And Reeks Engagement, and the next step is to include an Exclamation! Point! After! Each! Word!

But I was more surprised that a wordplay invented by a journo felt victim to their policy.

Too broke to pay sounds great to me! But I'm surprised Fox didn't kick him after the loss to Dominion. One would think any sane company would distance hell out of themselves from the election conspiracy.

Neat trap Fox is in, ain't it? Peddle the lie, get sued to hell. Call it what it is? Lose your viewership. I'm here for it.

If I were Dictator of the United States, my very first action would be to disband Fox News.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

That is an awkward example of title capitalisation.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

Finish him!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Fox News appears to have cut ties with the conservative bedding brand My Pillow, once one of the network’s largest and most prominent advertisers.

My Pillow Founder and CEO Mike Lindell announced that the right-wing news network revoked their advertising deals with the brand on Thursday during a broadcast of the Steve Bannon “War Room” show.

Lindell added that he had not been given an explicit reason for the cancellation, but speculated that the rupture might have been motivated by Monday’s Iowa caucuses, the first battle of the 2024 Republican primary.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Rolling Stone that the network’s partnership My Pillow “was paused due to the fact Mike Lindell hasn’t been able to finance the commercials and this was communicated to his media agency at length.”

In recent years, Lindell has been embroiled in a series of lawsuits stemming from his public peddling of conspiracy theories on behalf of former President Donald Trump in the aftermath of his 2020 election loss.

In April, Fox News agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by Dominion which included an astounding $787.5 million payment to the company.

The original article contains 596 words, the summary contains 190 words. Saved 68%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
