Brits pretending they'd care what a pole thinks.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago

Brits are anti communist, the polish voice is given a great deal of credence as such. One of the most inherently reactionary nations, true for both.

inherently reactionary nations

so-true - there are vast reactionary sympathies there rn, so it must mean they are enemies of the proletariat!

Pretty fucking sure Poland wouldn't exist if the Soviet Union hadn't fucking liberated them. What do they think Germany was gonna do? The Poles, Polish culture and so on would all have been Germanised.

The actions the USSR took preserved the very existence of a Poland that would otherwise have been totally deleted from existence by the nazis in their pursuit of Lebensraum.

Let's not forget that if the Nazis had their way then half of the Poles that currently exist would have had their grandparents murdered, and the other half would literally be serfs with German landlords.

No, you can't ask that - it's whataboutism

Which, coincidentally, was originally coined in Ireland in the 70s, referring to people who defended the IRA

Whatever the soviet union did to Poland they didn't do it enough evidently

[-] [email protected] 15 points 8 months ago

Thing is, the notable thing that the USSR did against the growing opposition movement in Poland during the early 80s?

Well... nothing. Send a few concerned letters, I suppose.

I keep asking the pole about it and it just keeps telling me to Stop

[-] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago

Why would I ask a pole anything?
