This can hardly be the first ones. I'm pretty sure there were other sightings of viruses never seen before. 😬
I guess they had already seen all of the other viruses that they hadn't seen before they saw them.
Unrelated but with more and more permafrost thawing, I wonder if we'll see even more weird and ancient virus and bacteria in the future.

I've seen the Andromeda Strain and this does not end well!
