That's right folks the year is drawing to a close so it's time to nominate and vote for your 2023 Hexies! These are the Hexbears you think exemplify what it means to be a real Hexbear. Here's how it works:

  1. Pick from the below categories

  2. Nominate someone for that category by tagging them

  3. If you are nominated respond to the nomination to accept it

  4. Most upbeared accepted nomination in each category wins!

What do you win? The esteem of your fellow Hexbearian comrades of course. What more could you want?

The categories for this year's 2023 Hexie awards are:

  1. Most Influential Hexbear of 2023

  2. Most likely to be called a tankie offline

  3. Best in Community Engagement

This year we have a special bonus category to commemorate the year we federated;

  1. Best non local user

Alright comrades that's it from me, be sure and do your democratic duty and vote for your 2023 Hexie winners and congrats in advance to the winners of this highly coveted and prestigious award!

spoilerAs a bit though

Not to be too cornball, but there is a core to hexbear. SFS has consistently embodied it since chao.chat days. Comedy is always spot on. One liners are consistently bangers. I mean the guy makes me crack up but also seethe at the same time. Is that not the raison d'être of hexbear? There's also the human vulnerability. Some here are open about some of the shit they've gone through in life, and SFS has been through some fucking hell. I have a lot of respect for that. A good person, a comrade and a comic. There are a number of people here who the site is lucky to have posting. SorosFootSoldier is undeniably one of them.

Thank you comrade, appreciate that meow-hug

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

Also, this whole post is pretty disgusting popularity contest bullshit imo. Still, there are some awesome posters here and there who deserve some sort of meta-recognition.

Best new site tagline: https://hexbear.net/comment/4409184

Do you want to say that to my face? I was first in my class at the Kurgan State Metallurgical Institute. I designed an alloy that has been used in munitions that have killed fascists across the globe. Do you see that Lada over there? The one with the rear end almost dragging on the ground? That's because the trunk is loaded with the various AKs I used while fighting the Taliban in the 1980s, personally field testing new shell casings. You probably thought you were just making a little joke. Well, that's fine. The revolutionary moment has passed, for now. Can I get like 10 bucks? I need gas to get to Ramallah.

Edit: Replied to the wrong comment twice. Anyway, don't call the wrong person an imperialist ghoul when you're at the bar.

Uhhhh

tooo hard to chose individual ppl

Number 3 nomination: @[email protected] : Their hard efforts put into the newsposting are a boon for all. Their contributions during discussions I always appreciate.

Okay for number 4 tho: @[email protected] : Prolific newsposter and a very well informed individual. I see them while browsing both hexbear and lemmygrad

@[email protected] : Just a lovely person all-around, congrats on the wedding!

My nomination for number 2: @[email protected] : Extremely based poster, banning this user would be revisionism tantamount to the Kruschevite counterrevolution

Second nomination for number 3: @[email protected] : One of the most legendary posters on the site. Has a lot of experience organizing IRL. She is also very funny.

@[email protected] : I see her unique moving avatar everywhere, and its always a joy to talk with her. Tied for number 3 for news thread.

@[email protected] : the largest poster on the traaaa subreddit, and has very good trans media reccs. Tied with Kristina for number 3 in trans com.

Read Unjust Depths

@[email protected] : Rest in peace, Great Chairman

Number 1 nomination: @[email protected] : single-handedly created half the jokes on this platform. C'mon its Dirtowl

@[email protected] : Great comrade, and its nice to have a Dwarf Planet on our team.

@[email protected] : The check-in threads are wonderful, and they are a good comrade all around.

Other nomination for number 2: @[email protected] : hilarious effortposter, braved the liberal hordes, and very very based.

-controversial and removed

@[email protected] : Hilarious and extremely politically talented.

Okay this is probably too long, but these are ones I felt were worthy of the special mentions

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The banning of this user is extreme liberalism. Did nothing wrong. Would be my nomination for number 2 otherwise.

Here we have a 4-day old account listing off the obvious cool regulars and the hexbear mainstays, but then touting a banned user who bordered on wreckerism and who repeatedly violated site-wide rules, comm rules, picked unnecessary fights with comrades, used handfuls of alts to try to evade their ban, and did a bunch of other shit I won't list here. But their banning was "liberalism" and they "did nothing wrong." Very sus. sus-deep

Have a nice time, and please don't try to start an argument from nowhere, its unseemly.

edit: don't try to reply, i've decided to block nuisances like yourself. It makes the internet better not having to interact with them.

I'm just gonna do shootouts

@[email protected] for top poster. On this, there can be no debate.

@[email protected] emojis and I just downloaded crossroad cause I recognized the characters from here.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Oh I feel like @[email protected] is in my replies pretty often with quality and we both get mad when people suck at history

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

People from alternate timelines do be making me mad when they are wrong about things that happened.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

number 1 @[email protected] for the emotes fr tho

site would be meaningless without her constant effort

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Did somebody say "award nominated"?

I nominate myself, @[email protected] for category 4, so that's "esteemed Hexie Award nominated character actress Margot Elise Robbie".

(And @[email protected] for 1)

[–] [email protected] 0 points 10 months ago

If the Oscar nominations were this easy... Sigh.

  1. @[email protected] . I joined hexbear after she left but I will always miss her nonetheless. What a great comrade
  2. @[email protected] because he killed Henry Kissinger. Only a true tankie would do such a thing
  3. @[email protected] for the megas. Honestly fantastic work.
  4. @[email protected] is a renowned comrade, the first non-chapo to make a megathread, and my personal pick for #4.
[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Honorary mentions/lightning round: For people who contribute to the site's culture and shape the experience of being a chapo.

1 - Most influential hexbear

@[email protected] for personally killing Kissinger in his first day of logging off. At this pace we'll have full communism by February

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Shame he isnt here to accept this because in my mind this is the clear winner

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

1. Most Influential Hexbear - @[email protected]

An essential facet of Hexbear culture. This is a different, better place with him.

2. Most Likely to be Called a Tankie Offline - @[email protected]

It is the end of 2023 and Stalin saved the world from fascism.

3. Best in Community Engagement - @[email protected]

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

uno reverse card @[email protected] should get nominated for his entire catalog of videos for hextube

  1. Most influential Hexbear: @[email protected]

Just one of our strongest posters all around. Didn't log off until real life took his attention. He's the only poster I've seen who will respond to absolutely everyone. Giant comment threads, good sprinkling of our emojis. overall powerful aura with a lot of posting HP

But since he's not here to accept it, I gotta give the actual nomination to @[email protected]

Every emoji is like a little morsel of candy and I can't imagine how the site culture would look like without our lovely little pictures of indie game characters and pig shit lea-happy

  1. Most likely to be called a tankie offline: @[email protected]

very pure "yes I'm a communist" vibe

  1. Best in Community Engagement: @[email protected]

Love the work he's done with the Chunka Luta Network . Overall cool comrade

  1. Best non local user

not really sure. I see some sometimes and they can be cool. Still feels like I'm getting to know all the folk from federation. But probably someone from lemmygrad
